Thoughts on possible CGA punishment Support Apolyton, buy Call to Power 2

I may be jumping the gun a bit here, but if CGA is detemined to have been cheating what should the punishment be? Here are some of my thoughts.

1. Disband their units inside Alagord and allow us to take the city. This is probably the mildest punishment, although since that is probably much of their remaining military force in there, it essentially amounts to their death knell.

2. Immediately resign from the game and give all cities to either Apolyton or CFC, perhaps with Balance or Power as cut-off point.

These are just general concepts, other stuff, such as requiring CGA to trigger our GA as a condition, grace period before any CFC/Apolyton hostilities, would also have to be looked at depending on the overall punishment imposed.

I don't really want to delve too far into this until it has been established that they HAVE indeed been cheating and a discussion starts beyond Apolyton (at least with Mongoose) on this. That said, I don't see anything particularly wrong with discussing... I'd just care not to myself.

Public humiliation in the UN forum is enough for me with the added twist of kicking their ass during the war

That would only be a start for me.

Castration comes to mind but that probably wont fly.

I guess I could settle for disbanding the units in Alagord as a minimum.

Cheating is wrong, period, if they cheated there must be consequences. Humiliation is good but I want something concrete to occur. (ie disband units, lose cities, etc.)

Just MHO, but I am death on cheaters, I cant stand them and dont play with them.

Ill shut up now.

Put an end to popups!

I disagree with Arnelos.
I think we should be prepared for the moment when GCA's cheating is made public. If we dawdle around, we may miss opportunities and end up in a position where a U.N. committee sets the punishment and not us.
Governments and large bodies all have contingency plans, even for cases that seem far-fetched or may never even happen.

I agree with Shiber... we should be prepared.

I'll say it again: GCA should be forced to resign, and a third party should dismantle their empire, with the parts being divided equally between us and CFC as recompense.

I also agree that this should be a UN decision.

I would be happy with:
1) Public humiliation.
2) They are forced to skip the turn they cheated on. Mongoose receives the save from GWT, hit's END TURN for GCA, then sends it to us.
3) Any future cheating results in Mongoose completely disbanding their empire and their immediate exit from the game.

Public execution. Or several swift kicks in the groin, whichever Mongoose prefers.

I still think our boasting potential would be increased IF we beat them regardless of them having cheated on those turns. Just make sure they don't cheat again.

You have a darn good point there MZ!

But cheating needs to be punished somehow.

Maybe the public humiliation will be enough, but I just feel there needs to be a concrete consequence to your actions. Call me old fashioned but thats just me. I hear you though, I really do.

If GCA are found to have been cheating, they should leave the game immediately. Another player(s) should then take over and perhaps divide up their empire or provide some other suitable form of reparations. The essential thing is that GCA should be barred from the game - there is no room in any ISDG for cheaters.

If they were to get off lightly - and by that I would include the disbanding of Algalord and all units inside - then other teams may be encouraged to take the risk of jigging the RNG in the future. However, if they were removed immediately, everyone would know the consequences of cheating. Remember; this is not any game. It's not even 'just' an ISDG. It is the *first ever* ISDG and it will set a precedent for all future ISDGs. I consider myself to be fairly reasonable and lenient with things such as thing, but I will reiterate that there is no room for cheaters in this sort of game. If GCA have cheated, they should go.

I'm with Adrian. They are gone. And he has given a good rationale as to why.

And, it needs to be made public, for all concerned.

But, as was stated right from the top, let's not get too far ahead of ouselves/

You have me convinced Adrian. If they are solidly proven to be cheating, removal from the game is a must.
