T41: all 3 workers road. Izz hits size 6, 24s. Conscript warrior reaches Izz, order to fortify. Adjust luxury slider if needed, make sure Izz is at +5 food. Should receive IW from Python.

No Conscript warrior has reached Izz. In fact, we don't have a conscript warrior anywhere near Izz. ???

Python did not send IW.

I had to up Lux to 20% to avoid disorder in Izz. We'll produce a settler next turn so can reduce the slider again.

Researching CoL at 80% - 19 turns to completion
231 gold in the bank at -1gpt

Writing send accepted to Python.

City of Snakes completes a warrior, moved it to garrison Izz. If anyone can think of a better use for it then let me know. Also, I've set the production to Worker 'cos I figured we could do with another one.

Support Apolyton, buy Civilization III: Complete

What about garrisoning Izz with 2 warriors as to keep the lux slider at 0-10% (with Grapes?) and build settler-warrior-worker?
I know, THE PLAN...

I forgot to follow my own orders. The conscript I was talking about was the conscript currently in CoS. He was supposed to move to Izz, while the regular just completed would fortify in CoS.

I'd recommend one more warrior in CoS, then maybe a worker.

MS - the reason we can't (or rather shouldn't) mix in warriors in the Izzardia build queue is that at +5 food, with a granary, the city grows so fast that it would inevitably hit size 7 (which then empties the food box). It's best to have it constantly between sizes 4 and 6, pumping out workers and settlers, whilst our other towns build military units.

See the Monkey diplo thread - we have a deal, I think. I will be sending Writing their way on T42.

FP, did you establish any embassies?

No I didn't. Curses.

I think it's worth us doing it next time, though, for both the Civs we're in contact with. If they do it first then we don't get to see their capital IIRC.

Bingo.

I'll do it this turn.

I've posted a heads-up in the general forum, because I will probably not make the 24hr deadline exactly... I won't be home until ~6:30pm eastern time. The save was passed almost exactly 24 hrs prior to that. Hopefully they will cut us a little slack.

Tired of ads?

I'm sure they will. Panzer won't necessarily be poised by his computer to play the save for us when the timer ticks over to 24:01 anyway.

Clarification:

Hitting size 7 doesn't empty the food box, it doubles the size of the food box from 20 to 40. The granary will retain 10 food (half of the foodbox when the city was size 6), so growing to size 8 requires 30 food.

It ends up being more efficient, from the point of view of pumping out workers & settlers, to keep the city at or below size 6.

Given how far away Monkey is, I think we can safely switch over to pure workers for a while in Izz after our first ring of cities in built. Then, once our ring is built up, we can go back into expansion mode for a bit.

The location(s) of iron and horses obviously will influence that, though.
