I don't know about the rest of you...
I am fairly certain that everyone checks in here fairly often, even if you are not active. That's fine. But the game is back ON, and it is therefore time to jump back in...
In a broad sense I am committed to the ISDG, because we are defending Apolyton's honor (yeah, CFC is more active, but we are better), but what I really care about is US, the Strat guys and GS... I know it has been a bit of a slog lately, and I TOTALLY respect the efforts that have been made thus far, and I also acknowledge that we are coming up to the point where in SP many would flag...
NOW is the time to rally!! NOW is FUN!! The South, the North... now is the Big Push!
The ISDG is undergoing a crisis, and also does not have the community aspects that the PTWDG does... jump back in here with me, and let's ROCK!!

What about trying to buy them into attacking ND?

Uhhhhhh.
non-existant I think.
I can't recall who was in contact with GoW.
Perhaps Vel with his smooth talk could get some information from them. I am certainly too clumsy to get anywhere.

I hope you have some reinforcements en route, my general... this force could be very easily dealt with by GoW / ND. By some good chaining, we could get another 8 units in place in the same turn, as was proposed over a month ago. Somehow, 16 units don't seem enough to scare them, I wouldn't want them to laugh over it, dismiss them easily, and get on with their business in the South. Maybe better to wait a few turns to be able to put forward a bigger threat.
As to renewed urgency: I agree, although can't get more active the coming days / weeks. Nearly all my internet time goes into 'poly, but it's not much. I can comment on plans, but can't put forward plans on my own... sorry for this, but I really have other priorities right now, once my g/f is used to it, I'll get some more time here. Not everyone is like Amy, you know

Cort Haus, don't forget that they have 2 teams, and only one credible beach head to defend. they won't easily dismiss 16 3-defense units, but it's not a real threat either... If we want to do anything with them, we have to attack at least one city, meaning that we'll suffer some losses, and get wounded units too.
Also, don't forget that (IIRC) we'll be completely on enemy terrain, so can't heal our units... we need reinforcements there pronto, or will only spend some units, instead of really damaging them.

I've seen in the Spartan Academy thread that the plan is to land at Yellowknife 223 (or was it 233?) Is the general aim here to whack a few GoW cities, or to reduce their forces? I think it would be useful to have a definite target before we go in so we don't do a Vox and get sidetracked into doing nothing useful at all.
The problem is that, without the ability to heal, once we are in GoW territory they can pick us off quite easily, and take fewer losses than we do (if we can stay on mountains the whole time we can even up the losses - and they actually lose 17 units killing our 16 on average). Once we stray off mountains, we are going to come off with worse losses in any engagement, and they're not going to conveniently leave a pile of riders or ansars around within striking range (not when they can move 8 tiles and still attack). But the only cities we can hit are ones that aren't going to cost GoW much to replace - small, recently founded towns. We're not going to survive long enough to raze any of their core cities with just the troops we are landing.
So are we just hoping to draw strength away from the south, so that we can retake everything apart from the ND trident cities (or more to the point, have them all razed so that we and RP can resettle the area). Or should we aim for a landing site that can do more damage to GoW cities (if that is remotely plausible)?
