Settler built. He and a warrior sent toward city site for Silesia. Izz re-adjusted for +5 food, ordered to build worker. Luxury slider set back to zero. Science rate up to maximum. CoL in 17, zero surplus.

Embassies established with Python and Monkey (32g + 48g = 80g spent). The details:

Camelot: Size 3, growth in 2, +4 food/turn. Building worker, due in 1. Granary. 2 regular warriors as garrison. 13 gold, 100% science, bringing in 7 beakers/turn. 5 shields/turn.

Primate Central: Size 2. On a lake. Currently working a grassland wheat (mined) and bonus grass. 4 shields/turn, granary due in 9. 50/50 tax/science. 5 total commerce/turn. 10 gold in treasury.

PC is fairly far south, which gives me hope that we can settle the jungle area... we've got quite a bit of room.

Sorry, no screenshots. But anyone who gets the save can repeat what I did... in fact, if they do, I'd appreciate screenies. I'm in a rush is all.

I sent writing to both Python and Monkey "accepted." I hope it worked, because after I do it, if I go back in the diplo screen, it still displays Writing as a tech they don't have. I find that somewhat confusing.

Oh, one other minor detail - the Monkeys have ivory. That is the 3rd luxury, apparently.

Done & Sent. I was going to ask you if you fancied peeling off one turn from CoL (to 17 turns) at a cost of only -1gpt, but then we've already played our move so we should stick to it. Same with the Writing to Pythonia - I duplicated the 'accepted'.

I looked in the Who's-Turn thread, the Plan thread, and this thread (T42) and found orders on everything except the northern
scout, which I moved west and south towards the coast. The conscript moved down to uncover the last dark patch nearby.

I checked as carefully as if I was sending work to a client, so hopefully I haven't derailed anything, and it's feels good to play my first DG turn!

Well done, Cort. You made the same move with the northern scout that I did - I just forgot to mention it.

Oddly enough, when I played the turn, at 0% luxury spending, 100% science, the result was 17 turns to CoL, at breakeven, not -1gpt. Hmm.

I think I moved the slider and before adjusting the wf, so putting the citizen on the roaded grapes give the extra 1 science. Looking at the map screenie seems to confirm this.
