I propose we build The Pyramids in Egg Roll. Immediately, starting now. No barracks, no units.
I know this may sound crazy, but I want the Pyramids:
-They are arguable the best wonder in the game; your pop can explode with the pyramids
-They are THE wonder for a food civ. It would be a disgrace for us to miss them
-What else are we going to do with Roll's production potential? Buffet should be able to cover our defensive military sufficiently, especially once it gets to 10spt, and we likely do not have the strategic resources needed for early wars in MP. I think the time for an archer rush has already passed; we built a granary in our awesome new food pump instead, which is a good thing, but which I think precludes war for a while.
I've worked the math out and, so long as we make sure mined bonus grasses are available to all of Roll's citizens all the time (or at least almost all the time; we have an error margin of 7 shields), Roll will complete the Pyramids in 59 turns, just before growing to size 6. A long time to tie this city up, yes, but think of the payoff, especially if we use Chow Mein to REX our way many more cities which would gain instant granaries.
Note: When I brought this up in chat, Sharpe proposed building a granary first to reach pop 5 quickly in Roll before starting on the Pyramids, and while it does save a lot of turns because of an early peek at pop 5, there is still a net loss of 4 turns on the final Pyramid completion time. So if we're going for the pyramids, it would be better to do so without a granary first.
