Ned, do you honestly think that muscle-bound nimrod's election had more to do with his tax policy than with his celebrity?

Criminy, that goes without saying... anyone who loses an election to Arnold freakin' Schwartzenegger is incompetent by definition.

Hey, getting rid of Davis was one thing. Election of a his successor was independent of that. The people had a choice among Bustamante, Huffington and the Green candidate on the left, and Arnold and McClintock on the right. Both Bustamante and Huffington offered to raise taxes to solve "Kali"-fornia's problems. Both McClintock and Schwarzenegger offered to cut or hold the line on taxes.
Now, we all saw the debate. Nearly every "Kali"-fornian saw that debate. Prior to the debate, Bustamante was leading Schwarzenegger by anywhere from 3 to 12 points. After the debate, Arnold took the lead, decisively.
Why? If it were ONLY his celebrity, Arnold would have been leading prior to the debate. But, he took the lead after the debate and after the people heard what he and Bustamante had to say. It is what they had to say in that debate that changed peoples votes from Bustamante to Schwarzenegger.
