COLUMN ARCHIVE

The CivII world recently received an enormous boost with the release of MGE. It has been accompanied by both positive and negative feedback. This column published some negative feedback last week; this week, it's time for the positives.

NO OTHER MULTIPLAYER GAME CURRENTLY AVAILABLE
The major reason cited for ignoring MGEis that it's coming at a time where other multiplayer games such as SMAC and CTP are pending, and are also ORIGINAL. I say, we've been waiting for MGE since last winter, why wait any longer? Right now, some CivII players are having the times of their lives in the Internet Gaming Zone rooms, and we'll have the CivLeague up soon! So I say, why wait? Let's take advantage of what's HERE rather than what WILL be here. (SMAC and CTP could always suffer the same delays MGE did...

NEW PLAYERS IN THE DYNASTY
MGE includes all prior CivII software, including the original and the add-ons (CiC and FW) for an incredibly cheap rate of $19.99-29.99! (Remember when the original and the add-ons cost upwards of $40 apiece?). By offering all that was offered before, new people will be attracted into the CivII world, instead of being turned off by the add-on packaging which required the original. These new Civers will add depth to and expand the CivII world, making it stronger than ever!

So, let's embrace the present! Let's take advantage of what we have... MGE!
