DANQ: Faces of Apolyton #10 (Part 2), 30/Jul/2002 [Page 4]

Jon Miller: Have you ever met Markos?

DanQ: In "real-life"? No, I have not. I will now anticipate your follow-up question: if the opportunity presented itself, would I met in person? Most certainly.

Solver: Let's now talk a bit more about Civ. Which Civ games have you played?

DanQ: In comparison to what Apolyton covers, which I maintain to be the entire gauntlet, I have played all but CivNet (the multiplayer expansion pack for the original Civilization, for those who are not familiar with the title). CN is in fact the only game/expansion pack of the Civilization series that I do not know a copy of but would buy one for set completeness sake should opportunity come knocking. Or if somebody just wants to ship me their copy… ;))

In terms of other related titles Apolyton covers, I have not played Galactic Civilizations -- which until the latest incarnation set for release later this year has been limited to the OS/2 platform -- or either of the first two installments of Master of Orion. (Did I hear just hear a whole bunch of *gasp*ing?) I hope to rectify both of these circumstances in part by playing their upcoming releases respectively upon their release.

Solver: Are you good at Civ?

DanQ: Although 'good' is a relative term, I am by no means an expert player. I wish I were a better at it, but all things considered I am satisfied with how well I play given the time I am able to set aside for myself to play. Nobody can be good at everything!

Solver: Ever get a chance to MP experience lately?

DanQ: Negative. I have played CivII modem-to-modem before, and even Age of Empires over the Internet (I teamed up with Mike McCart on one occasion and ended up getting my entire army and base such as it was in about 20 minutes... sorry again, Mike! {smile})

The opportunity to engage in multiplayer will no doubt come again some day.

Solver: Do you now consider yourself an active player?

DanQ: Not as much as I would like to be, no. There are only so many hours in a day!
