Greetings everyone
Here is(a couple of hours late) what happened in the civworld and on our
site the last week.

ONE MORE TIME...
(13.Sep) Ok, I'm used to it now. EBWorld has changed the MGE release date
one more time to October 30. This probably means that we are going for a
November release, about the same time SMAC is going out and a month
earlier that Civ:CTP. Things are going to be tough for MGE...
INFORMATION CHAOS
(9.Sep) The last couple of days, we have come accross some very confusing
information from two sources: first Jason Dobo, send us information and
screenshots for MGE and TOT from a Microprose employee at ECTS '98. Then,
today, Allard posts a discussion on Compuserve between a civ2 fan and
another Microprose employee about MGE. We have no confirmation that any of
this is true.
(13.Sep) Jason sent us two more TOT screenshots and some additional info
NEW HELPERS, NEW PAGER
(9.Sep) We are happy to announce that we have chosen our Helpers. They
are: DarthVeda, Reismark and Rishenko. They will help in all parts of the
site. Also we are announcing that Stewart Spink is our new Pager. Stewart
will handle the new Hall of Fame, which will be hosted on both Apolyton CS
and Stewart's site.
CIVLEAGUE IN DEVELOPMENT
(7.Sep) All things go well in the development of CivLeague. The join
and login scripts are ready and seem to work pretty well. Kwang
told us that everything could be ready by the end of the month.
Until then go there and sign up!
(8.Sep) Kwang must be working overtime. A new messaging system
is ready today, which allows to send and recieve messages from
other players. The next steps are scripts to send inivitations for a
game, reporting games and editing the user's profile.
*Site updates
13.Sep We no longer accept submissions for the MP List.

APOLYTON ABROAD (September 12, 1998)
(12.Sep) Markos prepared a preview for GamersCentral and it is now online
(screenshots included)! You can find it here.
PREVIEW REVIEW
(11.Sep) In an OGR preview of C:CTP, the "same old-same old" was mentioned
but some new aspects were brought up as well. Gameplay is being extended
to 7000 years, ending in 3000 AD. The unimaginative "Future Technology
1,2..." will be replaced with more creative ideas during gameplay.
Micromanagement is being streamlined --- they were will be an AI
controlled macro system and build queue so now you can build all the
'custom' cities you like (i.e. focusing on trade). Finally, an entirely
new concept being incorporated into C:CTP is "readiness". To read it all,
THINK AND WIN
(10.Sep) The newest topic on Activision's CTP Forum is whether there
shoud be a castle(like in civ1), a throne room(like in civ2), or something
else. Activision will reward the person that comes up with the best idea
by putting his name in the credits and sending him a signed copy of the
game! So, go there and do your best!
