Subject: Apolyton Weekly News 20/Sep/98

Greetings everyone
Here is what happened in the civworld and on our site the last week.

**Civilization I Section
NEW LAYOUT
(20.Sep) At last, we have a "new" layout for the civ1 section. The
brackets of course, refer to the fact that this layout is very similar to
the one used in the civ2 section. But it's a lot better than the previous,
isn't it. Anyway, the pages need some more work, but in general do not
expect many changes on this section, since not many things about
Civilization I happen these days...

HASBRO COMPLETES DEAL
(16.Sep) Hasbro announced that it has completed it's offer to acquire
all Microprose shares. Microprose is now a wholly owned subsidiary of
Hasbro. Read the whole report.

"THE COLUMN"
(17.Sep) A successful feature in the CivII section of Apolyton, The Column
is looking to expand its reach and create a C:CTP version. If you are
interested in submitting an article for review and display in this weekly
feature, please email Dan(dan@gamestats.com).

EVOLVING STATUE?
(16.Sep) On Activision's CTP Forum the idea that seems to have the more
fans, is that of the evolving statue. A very interesting idea is that the
statue will represent the characteristics of the player: gender,
personality, civilization, etc. The development team is still looking for
new ideas, so drop by Activision's forum and give your input.

16.Sep Markos preview for GamerCentral is now re-posted here.

That was all for this week
Until next time...
