AP: NICE LOOKING GRAPHICS August 21, 1998
Ever dreamed of playing civ2 in 3D graphics? Head over to Synesthetix and
take a look at the screenshots of Ancient Prophecy. They really are
promising!
HASBRO MAKES PLANS August 18th, 1998
Gamespot News spoke with Tom Dusenberry, CEO of Hasbro Interactive and
has some interesting news. We copy the most important parts.
About Avalon Hill: Hasbro's acquisition of Avalon Hill mainly involved
trademarks, current and previous designs, and other tangible assets. In
that sense, since Monarch Avalon(the parent company of Avalon Hill) was
still responsible for the AH employees and not Hasbro, the design staff
was laid off completely.
On Microprose: Hasbro Interactive fully intends on publishing everything
currently in development at MicroProse and will retain MP's full research
and development staff, although consolidation will occur
in the marketing, management, and media departments.
So, MGE is coming, but of course we don't know exactly when. Since the
development team doesn't change there will probably not be a delay due to
the purchase by Hasbro. While waiting :) go read
the full article from Gamespot.

NEW FORUMS (August 23, 1998)
Since the General Forum was so crowded getting about 100 posts/day, we
created new forums so that you read and discuss about exactly what you
want. So, we have three new Forums called Peace&Prosperity, War&Strategy
and Game Engine. Enjoy!
MORE CIVILIZATIONS? (August 20, 1998)
Possibly yes! This was just posted on our forums, by Lt John:
Right now, the game engine supports more than eight total civs. So it will
*most likely* be possible that scenarios can support more than eight civs.
However, we are working on AI and balancing right now, and don't want to
promise any more than eight maximum civs (including your own) for the
single player game at this point in time. If all goes well with our new AI
programming routines, we may increase the max number of civs in the single
player game.
FEATURES, FEATURES, FEATURES (August 18, 1998)
Lodi gathered info from various Lt John's posts on the forums, and we now
have all the features pages together.
