It's been a while since I put virtual pen to virtual paper and sat down to write something about the game.
Thank you, Theseus....your words are a large part of the reason for my return.
How long a return....don't really know. It will depend on a number of things I guess....perhaps nobody will really care much for what I have to say, and this...

Picking the right Civ!

I'm sure many players are starting to find what kind of Civs are best for their own type of play. Here are my thoughts. I listed the Civ bonuses in their order of importance.
1. Industrious - The most important bonus. You can build stuff faster. Workers work faster also.
I would strongly recommend picking any civ with this bonus. It also...

Civs from easiest to hardest
Visit/Download NOW
What civs are easiest/hardest to play? As far as I can determine, the key factors are civ-specific traits and Unique Units (UU). The manual claims that diplomacy is easier with culturally linked neighbors, but I'm not sure how large a role, if any, that plays, so I am ignoring it.
All of the following are based purely on my opinion. I’ve not ...

Civ choice for early warmongering

Prospects for early warmongering, by civ (clearly assuming that culture grouping is on):

Ok, since I started a thread on civ choice for early warmongering, I figured I'd go back to the other side of the spectrum and discuss civs from a builder perspective (which I happen to be better qualified for anyway). "Builder" style tends to be peaceful, although many builders play a hybrid style - some warmongering along with the building.

The Breath of God: Only the Penitent Man shall pass

This thread is the result of my musings on Vel's "The Virtues of Being Industrious." Specifically, Vel concluded that Industrious is THE best trait. Though he presented many good points in favor of Industriousness, I (after some in-game testing) disagree with that conclusion.
*DISCLAIMER: I play primarily on Monarch, and accept the possibility...

The local bar has been shut down for health code violations, so I thought I'd share some thoughts on the unique units. Yes, I know it's been done before...hopefully my thoughts are somewhat original. In any case, please don't expel me from your territory! :scared:
