First of all, Ming, you were a mod before I registered at Apolyton, so what transpired back then, I know only from hear-say.

Let me state for the record, that I have nothing personally against UR, and that yes, I probably should have kept my mouth shut, and let him prove his worth before I started criticizing the decision to make him a mod.

I didn't do that however, because I was genuinely astonished to learn that he had been promoted, for the very reasons I lined out in my previous post. So what I wrote before was not a result of my (consciously) pre judging him, but rather because I really don't feel that he has the same respect in the community that you, rah and MtG do. My post should only be viewed as a spur of the moment reaction, as in "my God that was weird, why on Earth did they do that?"

But let me just point out that I did state that I hope he proves me wrong. I really do hope that, you know.

In closing, allow me to reiterate: UR: I have nothing against you personally. Nothing you have ever posted makes me think of you as an enemy.

So who did Urban Ranger piss off? Mark or Dan? that they have done this vile and cruel deed to him, not that he is ENTIRELY undeserving, mind you, of his preferment to the 3rd level of hell.

Lord knows that dirty old men like rah, Ming, MichaeltheGreat, and me(at another site) have earned in spades our assignment to to perdition, but this youth may yet have a chance for redemption. Wherefore should he be condemned to be burnt in the sulpherous fires at so tender an age, surely he hath not yet acrued enough sins for this?

I have to agree with Asmodean that I'm extremely puzzled over this. I have nothing against UR personally as well, but I think that someone like Spiffor would do really, really well as a moderator.
