Of course not, did I say it did? It's about accountability - if you don't understand the rather shallow depths of such. You don't appoint Qadafi as head of the UN because (in theory) it is a humanitarian/ non-sociopath organization. You can elect him for it, but if he's appointed - people aren't even affected by the measely little organization are still pissed off.
Likewise, you don't appoint idiots and/or those who have demonstrated a complete lack of tact and/or skill in debate as moderators of the OT. I'm not quite sure of MLeonard's case, but I guess he might have been a bit of a closet exception.

Honestly, even with the time zone requirement - there were tons of able candidates. I don't know why I'm whining now, but hey these character synopsis things are always a bit of fun!

Maybe we should start an official "UR quote of the day" thread for some degree of levity and accountability in this horrid situation. I'm sure our precious wouldn't object to that - given all the "someone said a swear word over here" Community threads the little fairy has in the past started.

I'm reluctant to comment, but that really did look personal. The excuse that this is a gaming forum doesn't fly when you read then next 30 posts about politics, history, books, and (surprisingly enough) computers. In fact, if anyone talks about games they are often redirected to other forums on this site.
I've been quiet about UR being a mod, because I really did want to see how this worked out. I believed that the position would restrain him a bit, and we'd get another mod and a better poster from it. Personally, I was a bit shocked to see him become a mod so shortly after posting a blatantly racist statement justifying the death of civilians in the Japanese thread. Yet, I believe in giving everyone a fair chance. However, if this is representive of his future decisions, then this site is about to get as boring as UR's noncontroversial posts.
However, it is a private site. The owners can make their own decisions. As Ming is aware, I'm not really going to change my posting style much regardless of how many threads are closed or bannings I get or others get. If I'm in the mood to be an ass, I'll be an ass and accept the consequences. However, unfair they may be.
