The last thread went past 500 posts... time for a new one.

It's funny listening to the Chicago Media... you would think the Bears will make the playoffs based on winning back to back games against two sisters of the poor... They maybe able to make it three in a row in Detroit next week... but after that, we have to start playiing real teams again

The Bears are just beating the teams that are worse than them. The good things about this season are the development of young players... especially on defense... and the re-establishment of Anthony Thomas as the Bears number 1 back. I think Thomas, with a consistently healthy offensive line, can be one of the top 10 RB's in the game.

One thing about this season that I dislike is that Rex Grossman isn't being given any opprotunity to gain experience.

True, and I think that is a good thing. It is easier to get better than to learn discipline and team work, i.e. the Niners and Raiders.

The Bears need to develop, and I see them being really good in a few years.

Were any of you guys lucky enough to watch the Dallas-Washington game?

I watched the whole game, and as bad as the recap shows and sportscenter make it out to be, it was worse.

I felt sorry for Ramsey yesterday, he got hit everytime he tried to pass the ball. Spurrier looked like he had no clue how to stop it.

It was the worst coaching display I've seen in years. If the Cowboys hadn't played so lousy in the first half, they would have won by 30 at least.

Ramsey is tough guy to last through that game.

I was, and the first was about as shameful a quarter that could be played. I think 5 minutes in Dallas had three turnovers, while poor Ramsey was hassled and pounded the entire day - I bet over half their offensive plays had him sacked, hurried, or otherwise at the mercy of the D.

It really was exhibition football - Jim Rome has it right when he said that Spurrier looks lost and confused out there.

The best part was Cris Collinsworth, he was beating up everybody.

There were many surprise wins last week. Farve winning, Detroit beating Oakland (though I has a feeling the back-up QB wouldn't be as good in a start), the Rams getting destroyed, Houston and New Orleans both pulling off the victories.

All in all, a very interesting topsy turvy week.

Parcells isn't on a defense giving up 15 points a game.

Miami is more likely to beat them than the Patriots are.

As of this exact moment, the Cowboys look like the best team in the NFC. They are probably marginally better than Green Bay, St. Louis and the Vikings. Tampa Bay would be the best team if and when its defense gets healthy. Carolina is very good, but still lacks a good offense.

I'm just really upset I misjudged The Vikings game so badly.

I knew they were overrated, but I still figured they would win at home after losing one. But yes, I know their defense is still at the bottom of the league, and I knew there was too much hype there.

It will be interesting to see how they respond the second half of the season.

The Cowboys are overrated as well.
