	US being driven out of Islamic world Tired of ads?

It's looking more and more as if the Bush regime is losing it's war in the Middle East. It's the old adage, "don't take what you can't hold."

Iraqi Resistance forces are clearly gaining strength, and having greater military successes against US forces everyday. US command centres are being frequently targeted, and casualties are increasing steadily. The American forces are now on the defensive.

The US remains isolated internationally, most countries refusing to bail them out financially or militarily. The decision of Turkey to withhold troops this week was the latest blow to the Bush regime.

In Saudi Arabia, he US has been forced to close it's embassy and two consulates from fear of terrorist attacks. Meanwhile, in Afganistan, the Coalition forces control only the area around Kabul and a few cities and bases. Warlords, and increasingly the Taliban, control the rest of the country.

The situation is deteriorating daily for the US. How long before they are forced to withdraw completely?

I just like saying that

everyone is saying it now days.

but seriously, it is too soon to tell. Yes it may end up we are pushed out, but you can't determine that. Closing the embassy is just common sense.

As for Iraq, well... we'll see.

What's the difference between a "troll" and just wanting to start a lively debate? Is it that the troller doesn't believe his proposition? I'm just wondering.

And when does "things aren't going well" become "we're losing"? When was this line crossed in Vietnam by the US? When was it crossed by the Soviets in Afganistan? How will we know when the US gets to it in Iraq if they haven't already?

Maybe, but this wasn't apparent to me just a couple of weeks ago. Now it seems there's a definite trend. I could be mistaken....

I suppose that is a view shared by many in the islamic, or at least arab world. Of course what they are really losing is their war for nobody-knows-what-exactly, and they are a personified PR nightmare outside the US.

1st: The war is on terror, not on Islam (If you believe in the Bush administration (not regime))

2nd: The war is for oil, not on Islam (If you don’t believe in the Bush administration)

3rd: The surest way for the war to escalate, is to stand by with those who advocate the religious perspective, that this is a crusade (Saddam dixit)

OK, I changed it to something more acceptable. I wanted a word to tie the main theatres of Iraq and Afghanistan together. I agree that it's not a correct way to characterize the conflict(s).

I don't want to miss the real point. Whoever the US is fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan, and for what, they're losing at this point.

It's going to be a low-intensity world war. Not US invasions, and suicide bombings. But war everywhere, but with much lower intensity. Personally, I think it's going to start in france.
