Burger Punks Lose 30 kilos (of popups)

I just got home, from fast food joint, getting a meal.
Don't ask why, I rarely go to these places because the food is horrible.

AANYWAY. I was so damn frustrated with the place, I almost wanted to see the manager and ask if I could have this losers place. I was getting my food from Drive-In. There was TWO cars before me, and they were when I arrived. It took 12 minutes(!!!!!!!!!!) that I finally got mine. 12 freaking minutes! And it's not like the ones before me ordered huge, they had small bags meaning one or two meals. 12 minutes. That's just horrible. Fast Food? More like SLOW food.

The services was non-existent. I don't need people hugging my sacks, but jeesh.. this dude didn't say ONE WORD TO ME! Except 'want ketchup?' He didn't say thanks even. Nothing. NOTHING! Not even eye contact.
SO, it's not like the service is any good.

And the meal costed me.. guess? 7.10 euros! GOD DAMN! 7 ERUOSSSS 10 cents! ANd with this money I get slow ass service, sorry, no service at all, no nothing. I got home, opened the bag. Fries were already cold and WET, I drove only 5 minutes. It was packed WRONG, and the coke started leaking. The burger was ok, warm and all, except that it had so much mayonese, it was like defusing a nuke. One bite wrong and you have 9 liters of mayo in your hands, pants and eyes.

Last week, I visited this Kebab place.. I think the dude is Hassan or something like that. HAssan makes me Kebab meal, a big one and tasty with 5 euros. He talks to me a lot, and smiles. It doesn't take long for him to make it and it's more of a meal than something you get out from drive-in. He plays that weird arabian music, but that's ok, it's interesting. If he didn't violate all the possible hygiene codes, I'd prolly eat there more often.

you realize how much custom orders can slow things down? jackass customers come in and say, "I want a small fries with no salt!" so we got to drop new fries into the frier... that'll take 3 minutes just for some little fries.

and how about a cheesesteak with no onions! thats nearly a 10 minute delay having to cook more steak meat but with no onions.

it's not our fault. its the fault of the customers for making us have slow service by their idiocy.

and please don't change your order! people come in and say I want a Big Mac with no onions. that **** is being made that very second. Yet within seconds, the customer says no, 'just give me a cheeseburger!' in the space of those 10 seconds, the Big Mac with no onions has been made. it must now be thrown out and a new cheeseburger has to be made.

And then there are these pizza guys, they make pizzas faster from scratch! And good ones too!

And if you order them to your place, they're fast too. If they are late even one minute, they'll give you something extra or a discount. These punks? Nothing.
They should have a sign 'IF YOU ARE UNHAPPY OF OUR QUALITY OF SERVICE, FEEL FREE TO PUNCH THE KID IN THE CASH REGISTER!'. I'd be eating there a lot.

Albert Speer, that is a factor for sure, but there was only two or three customers inside, only two cars before me with small orders. It doesnt' justify ****! I would understand if they were very busy. AND even so, I'd still expect thanks, or something.. and not pay 7.10 for that.

and I didn't mean mcdonalds.. they have fast service usually and better service.

yep the fast food chains pretty much suck. I tend to eat at Various small places, such as Falafel and Shawarma joints. You can get stuffed for half the price of the fast food chain.

In uni, you can get an enormous real meal, on a real plate, with spoons, forks and knives ( all metal ones. I don't mind it, since it helps the enviroment. ), and a drink for a bit more than half the price in the fast food joint. ~ 4 Euros. god bless the Enviromental Engineering's canteen.

that's real cheap. what do you get for it?

for 4 Euros, I could get:
-A portion of meat: lots of meat. two people could eat this. Can be: fried fish, meat balls, kebabs, chicken, shnitsel.

-Two additions of various carbohydrates Fries, Rice, Cuscus, Spaghetti, baked potatoes.

-Salad.

-a bottle or a can of a soft drink.

I am dying after a meal like that!

Help yourself to an AD-FREE life

it's cheap yeah. We get:

basically a full meal with salad. There are usually 2 options you can choose from and then fill your plate with it.

You get to have bread with it, there are different kinds and they're fresh..

You get to have water as much as you'd like to drink, and juice. No soft drinks ((((((((( I'd kill for a coke.. (and that's 1.4 euros...half liter Graah!!!).

The food is sometimes kind of weird, there's rarely real meat, fries I have never seen.. but usually potatoes and.. well it's pretty good usually. I'm happy, it's cheap and it's real food.

fast food sucks

I once waited like 10 minutes at Wendy's late at night.

What the hell are they doing at 12:00 midnight?

In any case, I had to quit fast food to lose weight anyways. no big loss, as it doesn't taste all that great. No sense waiting 10 mintues for bad food.

Huh? I go down to Habib's or Nino's or Fuji or Raj Mahal and they whip up a custom made to order meal in no time flat. Maybe the fault is with your antiquated mass production system which is inherently unable to deal with customer preference. It's not the jackass customers, its your jackass system.

I guess that's why the Micky D's in my neighborhood always has plenty of seats available.

Fast food standards aren't realistic. The current marker for BK is 2 1/2 minutes for an order. This would be fine if the restaurant has enough volume to afford multiple employees. Lower volume restaurants are running skeleton crews, minimum management and the service shows. Not that the food, friendliness, or cleanliness in our franchise is lacking, but SOS (speed of service) is terrible. What's the difference? It's fairly easy to figure. Breakfast dayparts have minimal special orders, as well as a smaller menu. During this time SOS is easily achieved. All other dayparts are well over 2:30, due to the high number of special orders.
At this point, with fast food trying to compete against casual diners with a more varied menu, and with minimum-wage employees, basic atmosphere, bad rep for quality, service, and heathiness, along with higher expectations for SOS, the problems with fast food are only going to get worse.

There are quite a few problems with the system, the main one being unable to cope with special orders. I've put in my solution to the problem but so far corporate isn't willing to listen to any ideas that aren't it's own.

Fast food is totally on the way out

The "in between" Boston Market type model now rules the day

We are seeing franchise restaurants here in Cali pop up all over the place that are delivering very high quality, HEALTHY food at a fast pace

The food is way higher quality but the speed of service is still just as fast as burger joints

Of course you will normally pay up to $10 for one of these meals but the price is so worth it.
