	question about names... Increase the size of your Attachments

How come guys named John are called Jack? And sometimes guys called Ed are called Ted? WTF is up with this?

Can someone please explain this to me because I'm a moron...

How is Jack short for John? Ed and Ted... I don't quite get it, but can at least see that you are only adding a T...

Henry and Hank kind of bothers me, but not as much as John/Jack.

Its generally considered here that Americans were quite happy to change a number of letters in their words (armour/armor etc). I'm sure Aaglo would not be alone in thinking thats how Will turned into Bill. Although I should have known the Irish had there hands on that one as well

My Dad was an Edward -> Ted, I had a friend with the same name too. Ive never met a Theodore, let alone a Theo, but I sure as hell would want to change any way I could
