I don't see anything wrong with the strong caring for the weak... but that violates the whole libertarian idea of every person for themselves, eh?

Uh, no. Heroin, cocaine, pcp, glue, barbituates (at least almost no one does those anymore), speed, alcohol, etc. were prevalent during the 70s. Even crack is just a glorified form of freebase coke, which was around then. All we got that's new and really scary is crystal meth. E's been around forever, but it didn't start to get popular until the mid-80s.

Yes, I do see a problem with bilking young people out of thousands of dollars, in order to give the money to old people who refused to save in their youth, ESPECIALLY when you know full well that the young people today probably won't see any money of their own, because either they'll be dead from "partying", or the money will be all gone.

Well let's see. Natural death is by nature non-coercive, and not a violation of rights (due to the fact that it is indeed NATURAL), so I'm gonna have to go with taxes being the worse of the two.

As a member of the binge drinking class, the general impression I get of people who do so are that they are "hedging hedonists". They are happy to have two or three heavy nights a week so long as they do exercise and eat fruit. It does also seem the health risks are exaggerated in order to deter from the ensuing anti-social effects, which is what society is only really concerned with.

For example, I ran 2km in less than 12 mins, cycled 4km in less than 12 mins, and lifted around 60kg 130 times today. With football on tonight, the least I'll be drinking is four tinnies of Kronenbourg. Still, I had a good helping of orange juice this morning and a salad with tea, so why not.

And quite frankly, if you don't drink in this age group, you're most likely a social outcast missing out on many things. Around 1/3 mates I met because of drinking, 1/3 due to football, and 1/3 are acquaintances of the previous two groups. Most like to binge drink and it is during these times that friendships draw closer and relationships develop.

Just some thoughts.

Well, let's start by looking at intent:

-Communists INTEND to take every cent they can from anyone who has it, in order to redistribute the wealth around. This is also known as stealing.

-Libertarians INTEND to ensure that no one is deprived of their property, by individuals or the government.

See the difference?

Drinking's all well and good but there's no need to binge drink on a regular basis.

Considering a liberarian society would simply be a tyrrany of the great corporations, I can't see why it's not justified.

DF:nature =! what is good...

if we were to go by what is natural, humans would not have any sort of society and would roam around like animals and barely live to be older than 30... maybe that sounds like an ideal world to live in to you, but I think humankind's greatest achievement is civilization

See, tyranny implies authoritarianism and large government institutions controlling my life. This is the opposite of Libertarianism.

You seem to think that it's tyranny when you don't have enough money. That's pretty, hmm, greedy of you, I'd say.

The world doesn't produce anything. Individuals throughout the world produce goods and services. They use their labor, for example, to grow food, and if you want that food, you're gonna have to give them something for it.

Death is natural. Death by starvation is natural, if you don't eat. Therefore, you want to eat. You can eat by a)growing your own food, or b)buying someone else's food. You have a choice. If you think that it is unfair for you to be forced to buy food, then grow your own.

No it doesn't. The rist tyrants didn't have large government institutions, just a gang of armed thugs. If there were no government, there's still be gangs of armed thugs, they'd just be working for the corporations.

Oh yeah, if you have morning commitments (gotta go for footie training tomorrow 9:30ish).

The other issue is that when you hear of the limit for binge drinking (what is it, more than 4 drinks), it is just a joke. After 4 drinks most people are just loosening up. A binge is always followed by a hangover, and I'd laugh at someone who got a hangover after 3 or 4 pints.
