	I saw a cat die today. Enter the AD-FREE zone

There are alot of stray cats running around the base I'm stationed at.

So I was standing there waiting for the bus, and this cat darts across the road. Well, half-way across the road anyway. There, it got to meet the the front left and rear left tires of a huge truck. WHUMP WHUMP is what it sounded like. The cat, obviously in a panic, and with neither hind leg working anymore, scrambled about in circles for about 10 seconds, making no noise, it's eyes wide with terror, before finally laying down, twitching a few times, and they lying still. One of the other soldiers standing there also waiting for the bus approached cautiously, poked it a few times, then took off his jacket, carefully lifted the cat and wrapped it in his jacket, and carried it off somewhere. I've no idea what he did with it.

Anyway, the whole scene was really creepy, and sad, too. The image is burned in my mind.

it wasn't bloody or anything, that i saw. but it was a stray, so probably very filty, and possibly carrying diseases.

i'd have done something, but i had no idea what to do, or what should be done. I still have no idea what HE did with it either.

not really. i thought of that joke, not long after it happened, but it just doesn't seem very funny to me, having been confronted with it's very violent death.

i'd have found a shovel. i've seen too many animals die to really give a sh*t these days. most of them were by my own hand. and i ran an exotic petstore. i'm not some sort of sadist that got off on it. just. it was easier to kill escaped mice than to try to catch them.

and i once fed a chinchilla to a reticulated python.

Which base? I was at Osan 10 years ago. Only saw one cat the whole year I was there (It was stuck in a drain pipe. The base police fished it out).
