OPÉRATION: TIGRE TROU SETS OUT
MARSEILLES (Reuters) - Today the French Foregin Legion departed from Marseilles to commence Opération: Tigre Trou (Operation Tiger's Eye) in SE Asia. The brutal and bloodthirsty Chatichai regime must be stopped and the killings of innocents must be averted. The commander of the operation is Commandant Louis La Blanche and will arrive in Vietnam on Wednesday.

Chin Faction Eliminated
Chin leaders surrendered to the BVRP after an agreement that would allow increased Chin representation in the provisional BVRP government, investment in Chin lands, and an assortment of other benefits. The Kachin faction has also expressed interest in joining the BVRP, and negotiations are currently underway.
Hanoi and Haiphong Join VRP
The residents of Hanoi and Haiphong have switched allegiances to the VRP side and ousted the remaining troops loyal to the DRSEA (mostly Thais), with the help of DRSEAan troops who switched sides (mostly Vietnamese). The Hanoi and Haiphong VRP (HHVRP) control the Red River delta and a few cities outside of the delta, including Nam Dinh and Hong Gai.
Thai Monarchy Restoration Movement Secede from DRSEA
The Thai Monarchy Restoration Movement (TMRM) have seceded from the DRSEA, taking with them a crescent area of the cities north of Mae Hong Son, Phayao, Chiang Rai, Chiang Saen, and the ruins of Chiang Mai. The TMRM have signed a treaty of friendship with the Shan faction, and have allied with the BVRP.

Massive make work programs have begun in South Africa, chief among them is the building of factories and dockyards to turnout weapons, planes, and ships for the coming time of war, as newly sworn in President Tarmagin calls it. These and other projects, which include expanding the mines for gold, diamonds, uranium, and other strategic minerals to fill demand.
"With nearly every country and their mother rearming themselves, the minerals that only South Africa and very few other nations have are in great demand. Right now South Africa cannot keep up with demand and so the price of these metals is going to be going way up." South Africa is the world's leading producer of Platinum with 49% of the world's Platinum coming from South Africa. Along with Platinum, South Africa has the worlds largest known deposits of chromium, manganese, and vanadium as well as signifigant deposits of Iron ore, antimony, copper, nickel, lead, titanium, fluorspar, zinc, and zirconium. South Africa's chromium deposits contain about 72 percent of the world's reserves, used primarily to produce stainless steel. South Africa contains the largest known deposits of manganese ore in the world, Manganese is essential in the manufacture of iron and steel. South Africa produced between 25,000 tons and 30,000 tons of vanadium a year in the early 1990s, almost 45 percent of the world's supply. Vanadium is used in manufacturing steel, to provide tensile and torsional strength and resistance to abrasion.
In effect all this information leads up to the fact that South Africa provides the resources that feul most of the world's heavy industy. If for example the world was deprived of these materials for any sustained period of time, the world economy would be in no uncertain terms demolished. Over the period of months South Africa will begin exporting less of these materials driving the prices higher. Nations can of course go to other countries for some of the resources they need but it would take years for those nations to be able to substitute South Africa in the amount of the desired metal.

A man in a grey business suit walked through the store quickly. He got out into the street, then breathed a sigh of relief. He turned and headed for Dezershiny(sp?) Square. He had one more delivery to make that day.
A large explosion ripped through the street. The department store windows blew out, and the glass injured somepeople across the street. Dozens of people were killed and injured in the blast.
At the headquarters of the KGB, a note was brought to the commander.
For every day that those nuclear plants are open, another target will be hit.

The United States of America is appalled at the bloodshed in Southeast Asia. President Clinton has ordered the U.S.S. John C. Stennis and the U.S.S. Abraham Lincoln and their battlegroups into the South China Sea to monitor the situation.
Republicans in the Congress have condemned the President's actions, which were wholeheartedly supported by his Vice President, Al Gore. Senator Jesse Helms was quoted as saying, "What Clinton doesn't understand is that foreign policy ain't like screwing interns. Southeast Asia is a tar-baby. If we get stuck there now, it will take years to get out. Al Gore doesn't know a thing about foreign policy either. He should go back to hugging trees."
It would appear that Clinton and Gore's pollsters have greatly underestimated the backlash this action would cause in the polls. Despite the booming economy, the President's public opinion rating has fallen to 31% over the past two weeks. Al Gore is fairing even worse in the election polls. With election day drawing closer, Clinton and Gore's foolish foreign policy has finally caught up with them.
In other news, the United States has offered to host a conference for the members of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (Germany, Britain, Spain, France, Canada, etc) at Camp David.

Now...to Chechnya...
The majority of Chechans are more than happy to finally have peace, and to be relieved. A temporary government has been set up as well, asking for aid from other nations for getting the country back on its feet. There still are, however, like in any other country, a small minority of fanatics who wish for nothing do to with Russia, and they have retreated and dispersed all around Russia, leaving their homeland in hopes of returning to it someday when it is free.
BTW-GC, how are you going to make sure the force is only 15,000 if no Russians are in the area?

SPAIN TO EXPAND NAVY AND ARMY
The Spanish minister of Defence made an announcement today saying that the Spanish Armada (Navy) and Ejecrito del Aire Español (Air Force) will be expanded. The 87 Eurofighters on order will be upped to 120 and Spain will commence copnstruction on a new ship to join the Armada. The minister of Defence put forth a hope that Britain would allow Spain to take part in the Trimarin project.
ECONOMY TO BE BOOSTED
Economic minister Alberto Ramez appeared today before the Senado today to discuss boosting Spain's GDP and cutting unemployment. Industrial sectors would be expanded and upgraded and the euro would be more enforced as the Spanish currency. Many senators seemed to support this idea and His Majesty, Juan Carlos agreed that this was certainly a good idea.
To Britain: We would be honored if you would allow us to join you in the Trimarin project.

We protest Chinese claiming the Spratly Islands as part of their territory, as there are 5 other nations claiming all or part of the Spratly Islands. As the territory is still in dispute and probably will be in dispute for a long time, we suggest that China relinquish its claims to the Vietnamese and Malaysian portions of the islands. Should China do so, Vietnam and Malaysia shall likewise do the same.

LPRP-VRP Alliance Ended
For unknown reasons, the LPRP broke off with its alliance agreement with the VRP, though relations still remain friendly.
VRP Joins UMNO-FUNCINPEC Alliance
After the breking of the LPRP-VRP alliance, the VRP has signed into an alliance with the UMNO and FUNCINPEC. The VRP invasion of FUNCINPEC Cambodia has ended, with VRP troops heading northwest in order to help in the invasion of the DRSEA. All land captured by the VRP in Cambodia still remains in VRP hands, however.
Battle of Tavoy Stalling
The DRSEAan invasion of BVRP Tavoy has started to stall, with neither side able to force defeat on the other side. Several charges by the DRSEA have been repulsed by the BVRP, and BVRP efforts to force a DRSEAan retreat back to Thailand have failed. It appears neither the BVRP nor the DRSEA are planning to send any reinforcements to Tavoy.

22 Arrests
Nearly 22 Proven to be Corrupt politicans were arrested, when Police looked through their files and found evidence of corruption with the Mongolians, Taliban and the Armenians. These 22 Government-Related Officials (Lawyers, Judges, Politicans, etc) were arrested today, and were taken to court and proved guilty, the charge is exile from Russia. This kind of corruption is not tolerated at all...
Russian Anaylsts Proven Wrong
The positive growth rate will not be until 2001 (Mid), right now the growth rate will be -.06%, which is because of some corruption remaining in Judicial, Legislative, and other departments in the government.... more news to come.
