Some girls don't like it. Some do.
Mine does. And when she points to something in the VS catalogue and says, "that's fun," well dammit, I have a duty as her fiance to make sure she has as much fun as possible.

Godiva is very expensive, very good quality, and sweet chocolate. Add to that that the name is of a strong lady, and it will makes them think of powerful but posh women, which makes it seem expensive and luxurious.
Godiva are great chocolates, but IMHO Valrhona and Neuhaus are better. They are less sweet, usually, meaning they are a darker, stronger chocolate, which is less suitable for people not used to it.
Think of it like wine. A classed growth Bordeaux is luxurious and complex, but not the easiest to drink for someone that isn't used to red wine. Imagine there was a red wine that was as good, easier to drink, but less complex and dark/tannic. That would be like Godiva. It's less complex, sweeter and lighter, but easier to eat, IMHO.
