I've been trying to make up political predictions but I can only come up with platitudes. So I'll skip straight onto the music.
Lat year's big chart news item, a US top ten consisting entirely of black musicians, will be repeated at least twice during the year, partially due to the viewing figure failure of next year's American Idol competition. In black music the biggest commercial dissapointment will be Irv Gotti's "The Inc" whose run of hits dry up. The new Eminem album is a success, although not matching his previous achievements musically or commercially.
In contrast, Sean Paul's attempt at reaching out to the western audience will bomb, except in continental europe. After the new T.O.K album reaches the top 5 of the US album charts the Jamiacan wave slowly starts to ebb out commercially and in some ways musically, after the connection between jamaica and the most popular artists is severed. Donovan "Vendetta" Bennet will produce the summer's biggest riddim, which will produce at least one minor 2005 hit in the UK. New underground things are stirring on the islands though, and a brief trend towards using Soca riddims also appears.
Screw has a minor commercial breakthrough in the US and gets a certain amount of mainstream media attention. The year's unexpected summer novelty hit is from Brazil or Detroit.
A scene appears in the summer combining last year's punkfunk with timbaland-style rhythmic eccentricity, but never achieves commercial success. There's a brief west-coast punk revival.
In the UK several fair-to-middling rap albums are released as the majors are scouring for the "next Dizzee Rascal". Miss Dynamite releases a Garage album which is quite bland, getting her labelled a "spent force".
The Talking Heads do a reunion tour.

But the Greeks will still have a mighty fine rink ready for their Olympics.

New England Patriots will be in the superbowl thingy, but they'll lose it. This is the one I'm absolutely sure of because the voices told me.

New England Patriots will win the Superbowl this year. Superbowl is always won by thug teams, and they are the ultimate thug team this year.
Patriots winning Superbowl doesn't bode well for stock market. If an AFC team does win, it should really be the Broncos.
