Turn 153 - 370 A.D. Turn Report
Attendance
Arnelos
Trip (left early)
Master Zen (left late)
HTower (left late)
Kloreep (left early)
Togas (left late)
BigFree (popped in and out late)
E_T (came late)
Start of Turn
* Arnelos and Trip spent a VERY long time working on WF plans for our cities. Once that was done and Arnelos spent some more time writing that stuff up, the turn playing commenced.
Theology received from CGN (accepted)
25 Gold and WM received from CFC (accepted)
Foreign Affairs
Theology received from CGN (accepted)
25 Gold and WM received from CFC (accepted)
Sent WM (accepted) to CFC
* Togas and Trip conducted a chat with Donovan Zoi of CFC while the first parts of the turn were underway. CFC now agrees to send us 35 gold each turn rather than 25. Donovan Zoi will also look into raising that number (35 is apparently all he was authorized to raise it to, he claims to need public support for higher) to boost our collective research. CFC also agrees that Apolyton should hold Equilibrium for the immediate future while we move/build galleys into the lake to bowl over that pesky GCA galley. I believe Togas has the chatlog.
Christening Units

WF Placements
This is what Trip and I originally came to since we didn't have any MoI orders as a guide:
quote:
* Apolyton WF to 3-4-6-12-13-14 (2 FPT, 10 SPT, NM in 1 turn)
- Allows Apolyton to then build its settler more quickly
* Banana WF to 2-3-6-15-19 (4 fpt, 8 spt, Pop Expand in 1 turn)
- Banana expands this next turn. It's currently 47/80 shields. At 8 spt, by next turn (when pop expands), it will be 55/80 shields, plus whatever bump we get from the pop increase. It can then establish a WF of 2-3-4-6-13-15 (1 fpt, 13 spt) for at least one turn to make sure we get the library in 2 turns at that point. If we're going to have an extra 2 shields, swap #13 for #14, which is 2 less spt, 1 more fpt (wasted at pop 6), and 1 more trade (every single one counts).
* Mingapulco WF to 2-3-5-6-9 (1 fpt, 9 spt, growth in 6 turns).
- At 10/80 shields toward its library (switched from settler), it would take 8 turns. However, it grows in 6 and the new WF can be put to work at #8 (hill) for 3 more shields. From the current turn, that would put the library at 64/80 in 6 turns, plus any bonus from the pop increase. From there, it can have a WF of 2-3-5-6-8-9 (0 fpt, 12 spt), getting it to 76/80 shields by the next turn. If it can get a few more shields from the pop increase and perhaps borrow the shielded grassland tile back from Apolyton, it could make it in 7 turns from now rather than 8 turns from now.
* LuxInvicta WF to 1-2-3 (3 fpt, 3 spt, growth still in 1 turn)
* BigBend WF to 1-3-4-8-19 (3 fpt, 4 spt, growth in 6 turns)
- We assume this (swap of irrigated tile from Lux to BB) is what E_T already had planned
|
After Trip left and E_T showed up, I talked with E_T for a while and had him explain to me what he had planned for those cities and why that would work better over the long haul. I'll go into that briefly, as I understand it:
The reason the game tile is given to Banana for now and not Apolyton is that Banana with use of the game tile is more efficient for completing multiple settlers quickly. It will next have an opportunity to do so after the completion of its current library. The reason it will keep the game tile during that is to build up food so that it's population remains relatively high while building settlers (and thus building more settlers, faster). By contrast, Apolyton will only get the game tile intermitantly (2 turns of every 6 if I understood E_T correctly) because that's all it needs to keep the cycle it's currently working for pumping NM and settlers until the point where it will work toward the palace swap in the future.
Now, without Apolyton getting the game tile and it staying with Banana, the other WFs largely go unchanged compared to the changes at which Trip and I were looking. A change preserved in the swap of the irrigated tile from LuxInvicta to BigBend.
Apolyton: Set WF to 3-4-8-12-13-16
Mingapulco: 3-5-6-9-10
Banana: 2-3-8-15-19
LuxInvicta: 1-3-11
BigBend: 1-3-5-10-19
Iceburg: 5
Economy
Lakeview switched to Galley (see Worker Orders)
Mingapulco switched from Settler to Library (not an actual change, MZ just forgot this last turn)
Equilibrium switched from Settler to Galley (because abandon was delayed and we could use the galley against GCA)
Iceburg starts Worker (10 turns)
