	Treasure PBEM Support Apolyton, pre-order Civilization IV

Ghengis Farb had an idea for an epic game using treasure generating spots on the map to encourage some more competition. I'll let Ghengis explain it but for now we need one more dependable player to join the game. So far we have

Thanks for thinking of me but I'm going to sit this one out. I've got enough PBEM games to keep me busy and RL is getting more busy everyday.

Now if only I could convince my wife that she work all day to support me playing civ3 all day.

I was just looking for this thread to type info.

Basically its normal Epic rules with the Gold/Silver/Gem mines from Age of Discovery added and the Treasure units that give you 200 gold when you get them into your capital.

that was just off the top of my head, I'm sure there are others.

If it's not too late, I would like to play. On weekdays, I'm very reliable. Friday Night to Sunday Night, I'm usually away from my computer. The regular off time has never been a problem in any other game (ask Masuro).

In any case, it's fine if you take someone else...there will be more games to come.

I think we should stick to 4. All my best games have had four players. Lmtoops is dependable so I vote he's in. Sorry Uber.

I should be after Ghengis because I'll be back in Korea after four weeks.
Cerberus says he won't mind 5 players on a small or standard map. Anyone else mind? In that case we can include Uber. If everyone is a fast player then I guess it'll be okay.

Yes, include Uber.

If I understand the game correctly, the American civs will be the AI (unless someone wants a real challenge). That leaves France, Portugal, England, Spain, and the Netherlands, which is exactly 5 civs.

I have not payed this scenerio (yet), but I was surprised the changes made to the UUs and other differences. I guess I'm giving fair warning to really check out the civ before you commit.

I decided to pick randomly, and I got England. This was not my first preference, but not my last either. So I'll stick with England. Sea Dogs will rule the sea.

I didn't think we were playing a scenario, just normal C3C with the gold, silver, and gem mines added in. You can be any civ in Conquests, they all have the ability to build treasure mines with Construction.

What do other people think about adding a Brigand unit to capture treasure? That way we could steal each other's treasure without going to war.

Well, no one's taken Scandinavia. We could add in the longboat from the Middle Ages scenario and make the Berserker and the Longboat universal Hidden Nationality units.

I'm all for stealing each others treasure , but someone please explain what a "Brigand unit" is. Please explain this concept to me.

What I mean by a brigand is a unit that acts as a privateer on land. A unit that can steal treasure (and kill treasure carriers) without a declaration of war.

Ghengis, what kind of map are you going to make? If you're going to make a map with lots of islands then I'll want to change my civ. How about a random map? That seems fair.
