Oh, I don't ****ing think so!

Ok, the question is do we try to block them? Or do we let them go, and send the settler we just built to the spot where our warrior is fortified on the hill down there?

I expect they'll go to Corinth-112 to build their city. Hopefully they won't see Corinth-3 from there.

Shall we move our Spear 8 from the forest?

Got spare money?

If they're going to build on Corinth112, we cannot block them. They are 1 turn away, and all of our units are 2 turns away. EDIT: plus, looking at last turn's screenshot, they had a regular warrior where their settler team is now, so he is almost certainly now at Corinth112.

So I say we let 'em build the damn city and deal with it later. It's a good excuse to build a southern town, by the way.

We could send the Stooges south, to continue Python's road...

Yes, it does make it easier to build the southern city. We could throw the spear in Corinth onto Corinth-12 to have a look.

Right, so, what do you think? Should we up the ante in this game of border brinksmanship? Or do we lay low?

The lack of roads south of the gold hill is a problem. How long until the Stooges can move?

The Stooges finish in 2 turns - probably in stages - (one started last turn). Then 4 turns after that they could get to the tile that needs roading (2 rivers).

We still have a turn to decide on the settler, but we can send a spear to Corinth-12 now.

Spear from gold hill to Corinth 12... ok, fine by me.

Reg warrior south.

Is there a spear in Swindon? If yes, bring it south.

Still no map from Monkey, btw. They can't be trying it on - there's only 1 tile we've not seen, though perhaps their tile imps would be worth seeing.

OK, spear from Swindon south. Spear from Corinth to Cor-21, nothing seen. They might prefer Corinth-111 actually - building on the silk itself. We could get there first.

Worker-cat or cat-worker in Izz? It's size 5, 10f. Cat first gets more commerce, I think.

Size5, 10f...

T92: 15f, 10s (Izz can get 10spt at size5 while still pulling in +5fpt, right?). edit: only needs 9spt, because growth will bring in +1, for 10.
T93: Size6, cat complete. Worker.
T94: 15f, worker complete, size5. Start settler.

Tired of ads?

Swindon got 3 extra shields from the growth turn. 8 shields in box, 8spt, but needs a taxman. 20% lux is not worth it, we lose 10g.

Taxman from hill takes it to 5spt.

Ack.

What do you say to short rushing a worker in Swindon 8g), switching the build to a spearman, and setting it to 5spt?

With that new mine, and the irrigation at Sil9, is there any WF shuffling that would keep Sil at 10spt, but benifit nearby cities?

That idea of adding two workers to Silesia is good - bringing that up to size 6, together with Burundy's growth in a few turns should justify the 20% lux rate.

I was just gonna add 1, actually, but we could add two... though we need those workers to actually work.

We could also consider building 1 worker out of Swindon after its next build completes. Since the 6th pop point is doing very little for us right now, I'd say it's a good move.

The first build in CoS after the library completes = worker, btw. Same principle. 9 turns to the lib, so 11 until the worker... T102.

Hmm, given that, I'd say that the worker currently roading the mined grassland on CoS's side of the River of Snakes should probably come back across when it's done. We need workers in the south, badly.

If we used a mined hill in Silesia and ran a -1f deficit (12 in box) we can get an extra 2s in Coventry (-1 to crptn,) for CH/Lib in 3, growth in 4 instead of the other way round (growth in 3, build in 4).

We were going to wait and see after growth but I'm inclined to say 'lets take the library in 3'. We need to open our culture account.
