First ten posts: Reagan worshippers give burnt sacrifice to their God.
Next five posts: Rabid far-lefties chant Satanic incantations against Reagan.
Next ten posts: The Reaganites come back and assume that because five nuts just did so, apparently the entire left is nothing more than scum that wishes death on people.
Next five posts: One or two of the rabid far-lefties keeps it up and inevitiably a Godwinization is made. Interesting to see it was MrFun though.
Then next ten: The Reagan worshippers continue to blanket label an entire half of the population based on five loonies, and decry the "hatred" of the entire Left on these people. They completely ignore that it's a goddamn internet forum, where serious points are as rare as healthy McDonald's items.
Now, all this is only made worse because all Reagan has done for his birthday is try to remember where he put his cane at.

quote: SIMI VALLEY, Calif. - Ronald Reagan turned 93 in seclusion Friday in his Los Angeles home while schoolchildren serenaded his wife, Nancy, at his presidential library and she dedicated the cornerstone for a new pavilion to house the former Air Force One.
...
Bathed in sun at the hilltop Ronald Reagan Presidential Library, 126 youngsters sang “Happy Birthday” to Mrs. Reagan. The construction crew building the pavilion presented her a birthday gift for the Gipper — a metal lunch pail. She laughed when she found out it was filled with jelly beans, but did not speak at the brief gathering.
The former Air Force One, already on site with its wings clipped and stored alongside the gleaming fuselage, will be displayed when the pavilion opens in spring 2005. The jet was used as Air Force One by Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter, Reagan, Bill Clinton and both Bushes before it was retired from service in 2001, according to Boeing Co.
While the ceremony was taking place, Reagan, who has lived longer than any other U.S. president, was at home 50 miles away. He’s remained in seclusion since disclosing nearly a decade ago that he has the memory-sapping Alzheimer’s disease.

Since I might be the only voice of reason on the liberal side here:
Reagan was a poor President. The USSR was going to go away anyway, and if he did anything at all, he just took advantage of the situation by making it look like he did it. He also gave the government a huge deficit, and was President during a decade that should make the world ashamed of itself.
But no, I'd never wish death on the guy.

You wouldn't be offensed if I showed my hatred for the above mentioned scum. Why should I make a difference for the scum that is Reagan? |
That's an excellent point no one makes grandiose statements about these other guys so why make a statement saying reagan was so great. Also, how has life changed in the U.S. that can be directly or indirectly related to the fall of communism in the USSR. Has the Optempo of U.S. forces went down. No, it's went up. Has military spending went down. No it's went up. How exactly was Reagan responsible for the fall of communism in the USSR. What program? Was he some type of Steven Seagal, Rocky/Rambo 007. Why not give him just as much credit as George Orwell or Robert Heinlein or Ted Turner or me. I supported the cold war effort also. VJ makes excellent points also.
