Happy Birthday Mr. President Support Apolyton buy from Amazon

Ronald W. Reagan turns 93 years old today. I guess to me personally he will always represent the strong commitment of America in fighting tyranny and promoting freedom; I will remember him always for his great oratory skills and often surprisingly striking and witty side remarks to the press and to people he met. He turned the US around in the 80's and inspired a new confidence and hope for the future, not least by laying the groundwork for the downfall of the Evil Empire, known as the Soviet Union. I'm very grateful for Ronald Reagan having served two terms as President in the way that he did, and especially during the darkest chapter of the Cold War.

So, Happy Birthday Ronald, and thanks for all you've done.

Winston, you said it well. Reagan was a remarkable breath of fresh air that America had not breathed since the assassination of Kennedy.

I'm sure the Kurds and Iranians who were gassed by Saddam with US weapons and components would agree with you...

**** Reagan... I hope he dies soon

his economic policies made the rich richer and life harder for just about everyone else... the only good thing about the Reagan years is that they ended.

Put an end to popups!

I am always amused that more people on the compasionate liberal side find it so easy to wish those that they don't like dead, then those heartless bastards on the more conservative side do for those that they don't agree with. Just which ones are more compasionate.

Pax, North tried to blame this on Reagan. Reagan came down hard on North and for this reason he became a parriah in the Republican party (at least for a time).

BTW, I wonder why you connected Reagan with this controversy.

rah, they also seem to hate Reagan because of leftist propaganda. Witness the point about Iran Contra. They never seem to address the facts or even to understand the facts of his presidency.

I'm not going to reiterate -- again -- on why I have complete disregard for former President Reagan.

Try and see if you can search my previous posts in the archives, or if you forgot my past explanations, I can just PM them to you, but since most everyone here already knows why, I'm not going to reiterate here.

This type of hatred is seldom a result of rational thought processes.

I remember poking a lot of fun at Clinton and dissagreeing with a lot of him policies, but I can never remember posting that he deserved to die or wasn't worthy of continued life.

Reagan was a shot of adrenalin that America needed. The 70's were a disheartening period to grow up in and whether you like the guy or not his administration did change the mood in the US and in what was then called the free world.

But then, you guys went too far. Too bad.

Got spare money?

I cannot fathom how Reagan was anywhere near, in any shape or form, how he was a "great" leader.

Shall one of us create a separate thread to discuss the legacy of Reagan to keep this as a birthday thread??

The Extreme Left is an ideology of hate, for haters. How many times do I have to repeat this?
