T99 - 590 bc Support Apolyton, buy Civilization: The Boardgame

I assume Python has reached Swindon12.

Time for us to get set.

Orders for this turn:

1) Rush catapult to completion in Corinth.
2) Make sure the roadway is blocked from Monkeyvision. I'd say that, with the exception of Silkfest1, we can switch spears for vet warriors out of SF.

EDIT: specific moves, based on the screenshot in the T97 thread:

It looks like we have 2 spears on the gold hill at SF4. Move both 886.

The spear in SF moves 4 and forts.
The spear at SF1 skips turn

The spear at Corinth22 moves 8.
The spear at Corinth12 moves 7.

Warriors from Silkfest replace the Cor22 and Cor12 spears. That's 2 of 12. Another 5 move 487 (joining the spear from Cor22 that moved8). The rest (another 5) move 8.

3) Let the Frumpy heal.

4) Move chariots towards Swindon - we want them there in 2 turns. If there are some that cannot make it to Swindon in 2 turns, but can reach Ciao in that time, send them in that direction.

5) Move 1 horseman towards Plymouth, staying out of Python's way.

6) Move the other horseman into Corinth.

For T100: Python should reach Corinth 23. We will then gift them Silkfest, and move 3 catapults from Corinth to Corinth3.

T101: Python will accept Silkfest, and then capture the cats, breaking our horses trade, and march most of their stack to Silkfest11. They will offer peace accepted. We will accept peace and offer RoP accepted.
*Frumpy & Dumpy (?) sail, with 3spear+1horse. Hopefully we upgrade 4 chariots to horsemen this turn. All barracks cities switch to horseman production. Possible shortush in Ciao to speed that.

Looks good

I can play the turn a bit later on and raise any questions here.

Tabemono have the Pyramids. 3 turns ago, in fact, which explains their party smiley on the turn thread. I wonder if they built them or GL'd them.

Also, is Silkfest Python's for ever? I suppose if we are to share the silks, then that's their half - but if they eventually get Monkey's land, will we get half the Ivory?

HOLY CRAP! And we didn't even notice!

They probably built it. I don't think SF is Python's forever, no. I will clarify that one. I think the deal is we will eventually build them a city for them when they give back SF.

New orders for the settler out of Burundy (which I believe moved 414 last turn):

T99 - 144.
T100 - 414 (the Sw4 should road Ciao12 this turn, so they need to be ordered to do that prior to moving the settler).
T101 - 1
T102 - 1
T103 - 4
T104 - Build city at Swindon44444.

He definitely needs a spear escort. Ciao finished one last turn, right?

I will ask Python to send their settler to the Ciao4441 site.

Tired of ads?

We have a swordsman completing in Silesia this turn, yes?

This turn he's blocked by Python's forces, but next turn he should move to Swindon12.

Let's see, Ciao built a spear last turn, so it should have 5s stored this turn. It will have 15s when Python breaks the trade and we get our horsies back (T101). The horse would complete on T104. But if we shortrush to 10s this turn (20g), get the horse on T103.

Silesia starts a new unit this turn at ~10spt. Hmm. We need to order it to build something larger than 20s. Go with any improvement for now. We can switch on T101, resulting in a horseman on T102.

Swindon... hmm, what is Swindon at, must look...

Damn, must read what you write better. From the T98 thread:

quote:
Burundy settler moves west

Other settler moves west as far as BC

Doh, I forgot we had 2 settlers available. Hmm, hows about we take the settler from Burundy and send him down towards Corinth.

Timing...
T100 - our sword makes it to Sw12.
T101 - we upgrade chariots. Sword to Corinth.
T102 - settler, newly upgraded chariots and horseman complete in Silesia move to Swindon12. Any chariots that weren't able to be upgraded on T101 are upgraded now. Sword, 1 spear, and reg archer from Cor to Cor23.
T103 - Settler to Cor23. Sword, Spear, Archer, and Horsemen to Mandril6. Any lagging horse to Sw12 (includes horse out of Ciao if we shortrush).
T104 - Mandril destroyed, Settler to Mand6.
T105 - Settler to ruins.
T106 - Build Space Monkeys on ruins of Mandril.

Unit naming...

If we're sending our units into battle, we really should name them, don't you think?

My suggestions:

The sword: 1st battalion, Travestite Brigade (shortened if need be).

The Horse going on the ships: Mr. Dog's Horse. (And I never even saw the Mr. Dog bit)

The 3 spears to escort Mr. Dog's Horse: Cheeky Monkey, Flagman (or Man with a Flag), Lt. Sebastian.

Other spearmen: Bloke in heels, Slapdash.

The second galley, if not already named: Either HMS Dumpy or HMS Queen Victoria.

The other horsemen:

JM Horse (James Mason)
Berliner Brigade
U.S. Cavalry
S. McQueen Horse

I'm running low on ideas. Help!

From the plan for Swindon:

quote:
T99 - 18f, spear complete. Worker. WF shuffle with Silesia (see below) for +9spt. Autoallocation should get us the 1 extra shield we need.

Just double-check you think that's right. As for Swindon building the F.P., we might want to punch out a horse or two first... damn.

Swindon can get +10s +2f with Silesia getting +10s +1f and Coventry footing the bill with +5s +1f and using an unmined hill.

If we cannot get Swindon to have +3f (for growth) and autoallocation for 10s/worker complete next turn, let's allow the worker build to take 2 turns.

Set Swindon for growth and at least +5s, and give the surrounding cities as much benifit as you can.

Oh, and we might want to try and make sure that it autoallocates to a hill. If we can use up all the available grassland tiles not being used by Swindon this turn, great.

IIRC, Silesia can do 9spt for a turn if need be, because it's capable of 11spt.

Coventry at +1f? Hmm. For some reason when I worked out Cov's plan it was at +3f for this turn. Was I wrong that it's possible for it to have +3fpt, +5spt, or is it due to WF shuffling for Swindon's benifit?

Damn. Ok.

I *think* that means we will need a shortrush to in Coventry on T107 (77s -> 80s, 12g) to finish the market on T110.

Growth in Cov was scheduled for T101, but now will be on T102.
