These are the elections for President and turnplayer for our glorious Democracy Game. The term shall start upon the resolution of the election poll(s) and end approximately six weeks after.

The nation has been growing steadily, and with a good team we will continue on the path of Freedom, Victory and Growth.

This will be attained through taking any and all opponents that stand in our way. A range of great beers, a strong economy and sharp blades will always help.

At this time, 290BC, we stand on the verge of WAR with the Persian Empire. The current and previous Governments have positioned us so that we will leave Persia as a vasal state in the short term.

I see that my opponent has not liked the way our leaders have led this nation. Rasputin, during this time did you try to swing opinions around to your way of thinking?

But i see once again the gross tactics used by my oppsotion, needless to say, he will win by default, but we shall be watching him closely....

Rasp (have to call you that since I reserve 'Ras' for Rasbelin) - Paddy has certainly done a lot to get this game running again recently, and has basically been the Acting President in BF's... mysterious... absence.

Although what I would love to see (maybe next elections?) is a Rasputin vs Paddy (if Paddy's going to stand again) All Oz main event! Imagine the fun that could be had with the campaigning!

To whoever doesn't win this - just push a little bit to keep yourself visible and contributing thoughts this term and you are bound to be in with a strong chance next election too.

My fellow Vikings...

It is with great pleasure that i stand as a candicate for president of our great country. I have watched with interest as the previous goverment shave struggled with competing demands to satisfy all. on the one hand they are trying to build an army, on the other they are trying to improve infrastucture of our peoples. and yet they have achieved neither.

Our neighbours are as large if not larger than we are, with as many techs and citys growing well. our nation deserves to be number one in al lcategories that matter. do we as vikings accept our current postion on the world. NO. We demand and deserve better.

Is the problem we now face wholly the fault of the president and his governemnt, NO. But it is the presdident that sways the people with his leadership. it is his charismatic impact that can move our nation in the right or wrong direction.

Yes we are a democracy and yes we must have elections and votes , but we need a leader who will state what he wants and needs and not simply allow the vocal minority to dictate our future.

I call on all Vikings to give me the mandate to recticy our current position, which is much worse than i first imagined.

Vote for me and my first goals will be to improve the citys of our great nation to such an extent that our scientists are free to research as they choose and not hindered by lack or resources.

Roads and irrigation ar evital parts of our nation and these will not be neglected.

Our armies are small and under trained. I will instigate a program of vigourous re-arming with modern equipment. We will teach our young men and women how to fight and to slay our enemies more efficiently.

We will protect our homeland from the passing brigades of pirates and other barbarians.

A vote for me will be a vote for our future , a new brighter future.

My first actions as president would be to sort out our homeland mess.

some citys not growing due to citizens being in worng areas, not enough mines, too much irrigation.

in early years we need more prodcution and less population growth, a balance is needed

We have way too many warriors they are useless and only costing us upkeep. they should be sent home to guard the nation and not used to attack, the spearman can advance.

I would prefer to clear our home land of the persians unless they can be made to deal with us, if they are friendly then we take out the other civ on our southern island.

spanish over to east are not necessarily a prime target as of yet as that will need a larger navy first.

after careful analysis, a few citys are not connected in a direct path to speed our swordsman to the front, this road buildign will be a priority as well as a road to our southern neighbour.

with careful advice from my advisors, i think mining is more priorty than irrigation at this stage.

Thank you for taking the time to raise these questions Nimitz.

I believe that we are advancing nicely. Soon each of our Cities will be garrisoned with two Spear units. As the technology of Monarchy will be attained the very next turn of game play, we are very close to a major step forward.

We have a good economy, plenty of mines, and several worker stacks digging more. The micro-management of our Nation is quite extraordinary to see, net alone to participate in. Each and every TurnChat / Senate Session contains details of how this micro-management has furthered the economy.

I have a three step approach to our Nation, build good roads, encourage your men, and lots of pubs for all of the population.

I believe that this show in my game style.
