* Drogue walks into a crowded hut, next to the coliseum. He calls for quiet, and then begins to speak:
"Ladies and gentlemen, the rumours you have heard are correct. In the traditional style, I, as reigning champion have returned to host a competition to find the new champion of Gladiator Apolyton. Now in it's third season, this competition brings warriors from all over the globe to compete. There are rumours that new warriors might be interested in pitting their wits and swords against many of the old stalwarts, including last seasons host. I can neither confirm nor deny these rumours.
Ladies and gentlemen, I give you, Gladiator III"

Sign up will be up for at least 48 hours, and probably longer to get a decent number of players. If there are <12 players, it will follow the same style as last time, playing all opponents in two batches, and then the top 4 go through to the semi-final. If there more than 12 contestants, then there will also be quarter-finals too, and the top 8 will go through. I know some people have voiced and interest already (Theben, Spaced, Spike) but I won't presume you're entering until posted here. If you wish to see the rules or the old competition, please look at Gladiator 2.
Please post your weapons and armour choice. You have 20 points to distribute, and as always, weapons add half to attack and full to power, armour adds half to defense and takes full from the opponants power.
Entrants: (seeding, based on overall record in Gladiator 2 compared to other entrants)
The Doctor (1) - W20 A0
Jamski-San (2) - W10 A10
Skanky Burns (3) - W10 A10
Spacius Maxiumus - W15 A5
Theben - W7 A13
Mad Captain Garland - W12 A8
Frozzius Eventius - W6 A14
The Great Raz - W10 A10
mart7x5 - W12 A8
Scoring for the preliminary round will be 3 for a win, 1 for a draw, and 0 for a loss. I'm tempted to add a bonus of 1 if you win by 30 or more. What do others think?

Actually, it makes no difference, except for your style. When fighting an opponant, both of you have the same effective bonus to attack and defence for that fight, so both are equal. So if you prefer you both to be harder to hit, choose high armour. If you prefer to both be easier to hit, and the fights quicker and more exiting, choose high weapon. If you prefer to be roughly even, choose mid for both.
If I fought again, it would be with high attack. It's more fun, and there are some interesting strategies I'd like to try. Or maybe something balanced-ish again.
