Hey Blackice, I'm adopted too

I never tried to look up my Birth parents, for some reason it doesn't occur to me to do so.

My adopted parents are all I've ever needed for sure.

It's kind of fun being adopted, my friends can refer to me as B.a.s.t.a.r.d and I just don't take offence

Checkmate too true. I simply wanted to find out if my bio family had any history of medical problems I should be aware of in later life. IMHO not providing that information with an adopted child is just criminal.

I think London Exchange is just rediculously powerful wonder, I mean 0 maintenance cost? That's rediculous. That's to good. I think that in a close game LE would pretty much seal it for the builder. The only real way to counter it is to take that city that built it. This must be done quickly or else the opponents civ will grow out of your control quickly.

Yes, LE is a powerhouse. A huge one. I remember testing it often against the AI, and I easily saw that after building the LE, you can get all the tech you want at amazing speeds, and complete the alien victory even, omitting Robotics so as not to make the LE obsolete.

Edison Lab is worse in my opinion - but back to topic: About the LE:

And I think the game between me and Blackice is the reason to his questions (my sciencepoints rose skyhigh, when I conqered the LE from the AI).

But it droped to half, when Blackice discovered Robotics. Just as it should.

What he sees now is the full effect of my (and I think Dimytes and his own) strategy - the modified rabbitstrategy - where no cities are placed without at least one tradegood. All goods in trade and no sci-booster (academies etc.) in cities with less than 300 guld income (my tresshold, I don't think Dimytes builds any at all) and about 80 cities.

From about 5.000 sci-points under communism and with LE active, I dropped to 2500 sci-points - but when I changed to Corporate Republic, I finally got that sci-boost I needed: More than 18.000 and still going up.

Good points Birdy, I should point out with the modifications while in fasist I was about 4900 points. When I moved to c.r. I was about 5800, now 17000 and going up. So as we can see L.E. was some what negated with the strategy I presented. I built every wonder after londons and now enjoy an 11 tech advantage.

I will get a very quick double science boost with dinasaur park maybe three turns with which I can either increase the tech lead or more than likey rush buy improvements for space cities.

Mind you most if not all cities now have fusion plants etc... So my gold cost is way higher but then so is my production. The final touch will be building televisions in about 3 turns which should close to double my science rate. I expect to see about 32-40,000 science rate with a population by then that should be close to 4 billion. 3,6 now. Including 10 space cities I have 90+ now the draw back for me now will be new techs causing chaos in my civ.

That boost I got by rushing to C.R. put me about 10 techs ahead where it still remains.

Like you I have always practiced rabbit with goods in every city. It is the way to go

Ok this is true I swear, today I was driving down a country road between two cities. It is thanksgiving here in Canada and generally people have turkey for dinner.
I see five fat wild turkeys run out of the trees lol. I think to myself in 9 years here on the same road, I have never seen a wild turkey. Deer, racoons, skunks etc but no wild turkeys. So of all the weekends these birds choose to come out of the forest, thanksgiving.

Explains there rank in the food chain well though.

Down here in North Carolina we see lots of Wild Turkey coming out of the woods..only problem is it is:

A) in the liquid form

B) in the possession of Rednecks-R-us

C) causes you to see Canadians driving down country roads, sometimes 5 canadians at a time..
something..well this time of year..ya just dont see

I did the conversion of 1400 Canadian dollars to my local currency... and WOW! That's damn cheap for such an amazing machine, I was thinking it would cost more along the lines of 900-1000 GBP.

Very cheap one would assume the new technology would be typically expensive. Yet it's not that bad. The only thing real expensive is the x16 video cards above 128 mbs. You can work around that by getting the intel 900 onboard video with the pciexpress slot for future expansion. Typically the board would be 199.00 can. with the onboard video and the ddr2 600 ability. The video 33mhz clock and the 224mb ddr2 ram is quite good. Thats good bang for your buck and puts you in good shape for when the video cards drop in price. Example price the gf 256 mb x16 card is about 2 grand can.

The 900 is quite interesting as it uses what is needed, if you are simply typing it would set to 8mbs leaving the rest of the ram for windows use. In gaming it will go up to 224mbs this is done automatically without user input.

I run five machines here and do a lot of backups for people. Plus I use my machine remotely when doing service calls. My programs and client file data base is about 150 gigs. I am also testing vop and other internet server related programs. I need 40 gigs for xp, 80 gigs for music, the other hd is for ghosting storage for all my machines with a bit of room left over for client machines.

I need to sell the 80 gig s-ata to get another 200 gig for more remote backups for clients. I could use two of these actually.

I mean you can buy the base system for about $850.00 so why not? Leading edge, fast, upgradable makes sense when looking for a new system and you have a kvm and or MN,KB,M already. KVM is only $49.00 so you can store and save to your server plus keep your system clean and files safe.

that's why I like the trade, lot's of problem solving and most often a new one each time. Most I have managed is 15 comps. Obviously the perfered system I am using will grow as the client base grows but that simply translates into cash. So the more the marrier.
