They're calling a truce, they're not calling for a truce. That means Europe doesn't have to change anything (Zapatero already decided to pull out the Spanish troops, right?). It's not like any security agencies will actually take a break now, or any other European nations will withdraw any troops.

So they can call their truce all they want... I think that's also what Saint Marcus means.

I do not for one moment believe that Spain 'gave in' to Al Qaeda- when they wouldn't do so in six decades of struggle with E.T.A. .

Still, I'm sure it suits the opinions of some Americans (and others) to view Europeans as being 'soft' on terror, or more easily influenced than Americans.

After all, the Eurocommies have had so little experience of terrorist atrocities, haven't they?
