Just one thought -- Queer as Folk is more realistic by having actors who look good, but still are ordinary looking.

Less people would relate to plastic top-grade model actors in a series like this.

Well I like the UK version a lot more because it accomplishes that a lot better.. in my opinion. Ever see it before?

But what's the point when every other aspect of the show is so ludicrously unrealistic as to be absurd? I mean, if they're going to feed us storylines that make daytime soaps look Hemingway, they could at least give us better eye candy.

You just don't make any effort to appreciate the realism behind this mini-series.

It's Hollywood version of realism, but at least it doesn't idealize the gay life -- it shows the grit as well as the polish.

Of course, what one gay life does Queer as Folk portray? Not one exclusively, but the individual lives of the gay men and lesbians in the mini-series.

I always thought Gale Harold (Brian) looked like a flat chested lesbian- and he definitely wears too much make up.

Michael's boyf. has a much hotter body.

In fact, I think the lesbians get a better deal out of Queer as Folk- and men who like big women (Sharon Gless- definitely a milf for certain men).

Justin looks like a choirboy in need of a feed and a workout, and is waaayyy too young looking for me.

I agree with you on the stories, B.G.- as realistic and as hard hitting as 'Gays of Our Lives' or 'As the Stomach Turns'.

Got news for you guys -- this will shock you -- they did not pick the character Debbie, to be overweight because the producers thought she would be attractive.

They picked her, because that's how many (not all) older aged mothers look in real life.

Let me say for the record: Tyne Daly is an accomplished actress and although time is working on her, I think she's aging gracefully.
