Just in case anyone is curious, here are the next few turns of MOI orders as well. Both posts that contained this are now buried on the 2nd page so here they are again. These orders take us up through finishing the granary. Then there are two turns left to growth. In those two turns we can have potentially 12-13 shields stored for what we build next, or alternatively build a worker to keep the pop at a manageable level and gear up some improved tiles.

3100bc – 4f,29s; +7b,0g
3050bc – 6f,35s; WF to cattle, sugar and wine; +8b,0g
3000bc – 9f,50s; Roads R Us completes chop, idle; +8b,0g
2950bc – 12f,55s; Roads R Us roads tile; +8b,0g
2900bc – 15f,0s; Granary complete, start worker or settler next; Slider to 80%; +7b,0g

i can't issue orders until i'm told what we wish to do.

if we're being aggressive to CDG, anthea has to move towards them. if not, he can scout north.

Lose 30 kilos (of popups)

Well, we have 3 polls.

1. Asks about our stance towards CDG; to be either peaceful or aggressive. Aggressive won.

2. Asks about our tech research and if we should switch from Writing if we take a cooperative approach to CDG. Switching to IW won.

3. Asks about tech cooperation with CDG. This would seem to preclude acting in an "aggressive" manner towards them since it would require them to actullay be around in the game long enough to trade techs with us. :P Now, since this poll sows a preference for cooperation with CDG I'd say the team is slightly in favor of taking a "peaceful" stance with CDG rather than an "aggressive" one as was first voted on in the first poll mentioned.

The first poll was:
18(war)
7(peace)
4(abstain)

The third poll is:
13(peace)
7(war)
1(abstain)

What does this all say? I have no clue!

I would say the third poll takes precedence because it took place later.

The first poll was before we discussed the tech trades and therefore shouldn't be considered. We should go with the most recent poll. If there is any ambiguity we can always hold another poll.

It appears that we've backed off our agressive stance. I, for one, feel that this is for the best. My request to the Ministry of War is that we PLAN for moves that are scouting in nature (not bunch the warriors), but keep them in the region for a bit longer to give us intel and to keep open the POSSIBILITY that we snag an unprotected settler.

The actual moves will have to be played out in chat, but we should have some general plans in place first.

As to the polls, SirOsis has it correct I believe. The first poll was before we had information deals etc. Between that time and the second poll, many people have changed their minds about cooperating for now.

We shouldn't get complacent though. A strong military is a MUST!

I have confirmed that, as of last turn, CDG does not have any units in it's Capitol. Do we still want to be "peaceful"?

There might well have been different group of people voting in the first poll than the third.

Main thing I see is that we should pop the goody hut soon.
We could get a free settler, the cheapest tech we aren't actively reseraching, or some gold.

It is no longer "confirmed." I thought we had only 3 Warriors. We have 4 so I cannot confirm that CDG has only one Warrior.

The strength of the Curragh is the same as a Warrior according to my tests in simulations.

But, lets contemplate something:

CDG was at size 1 for 15 turns. So that means +1 food for 10 turns and +2 for 5 turns. During that time we know they built a Curragh which cost 15 shields.

So, if they were working a forrest tile they would get the 15 shileds in 5 turns. Then lets say they switched to a Warrior when and moved the WF off of the Forrest tile and onto a bonus grass so that they get +2 food and 2 shileds per turn. That would make a Warrior appear at turn 10 for them( 5 tuns after the Curragh).

Then let's say that for turns 10-15 they switched back to the forest tile and at turn 15 grew to size two. So between turns 10 and 15 they put out 3 shields per turn for a total of 15 and then when they grew to size 2 they put their WF on two grass tiles (one bonus) for a total of 2 shields per turn and +2 food after turn 15.

That means they would grow to size 3 on turn 25 and have 35 shields in the box on that same turn; this would waste 5 shields but they cannot produce a Settler until they grow to at least a size 3. It seems to me that they are following this build order and are going to pop a Settler on turn 25, the same turn they grow to size 3. The alternative is to build another Warrior after the first one and then have their Settler come out on turn 29.

Turn Results for 3100bc

Played in chat with Kloreep and UberKruX using posted orders and chat-determined orders at 5:00am GMT

Turn Results in Order Played

Roadkill Warriors move East (6)

Grog moves Southeast (3)

(after discussion)Anthea the Blonde moved northeast (9). SIGHTS A CDG WORKER. note: Uber and Kloreep were very reluctant to move, but after we decided to revert to a more peaceful plan of action, I moved 9.

No other changes.

Save sent to BAT and Admin

ISSUES OF NOTE
We need to now tell CDG that we lied to them about where we were because we were considering taking a more agressive stance. We should say that after much polling and discussions, we dedided that it was best to cooperate, and we should then initial the first tech trade of WC (+ 10g?) for BW.

We should also get together and plan for a race to Philosophy that puts us in the best position and gives us Mathematics at a reasonable timeframe, so that Zeus is not delayed.

We need to decide when to pop that hut.

We are the only civ with a size 3 city. Batros is still size 1.

Why move Blondie onto the hill? We knew, and had discussed, that doing so stood a good chance of being seen.
