I think it is better to wait a few days to see what bugs crop up. If we play a turn with 1.20 we won't be able to go back to a previous version without replaying the turns. A few days isn't too long to wait to make sure everything is working as it should.

need to wait til at least the tech patch is fixed, ridiculous that got through. I was under the assumption that 1.20 was just a formal 1.18, but 1.18 didn't have that crap. Oh well. Hopefully jesse will have a new build out soon, as it is only a minor fix. Hopefully nothing else will be wrong...

The bug I assume we're talking about is where the tech tree doesn't appear properly. While not major it makes me question what else might be wrong with the patch. If that can make it through there might be some other problems not spotted yet.

I dunno, but this may be an issue. The Firaxis website says:

That sounds correct to me; that's how most other patches have been (with the exception of 1.27 for PTW, which IIRC was backwards compatible with 1.21). I would imagine whoever runs Firaxis' website has it wrong.

It does seem that this patch was not put through a thorough editing process prior to release.

There have been several details found already. You can see these at C3C Patch 1.20 Bug Thread

This thread has the link to the patch. C3C PATCH 1.20 (finally here!)

I have loaded the patch and am playing a SP game, as well as a PBEM with Rommel2D.

Patience may well be a good thing at this time.

That about sums it up. The amount of bugs that have been discovered in just one day doesn't exactly instill me with much confidence in this patch. The 1.15 beta patch is much more stable than this supposed final patch.

Wait and watch. The patch is still very new, but there are problems being shown or discussed already. It may not be worth it, and we may as well stick to the beta we have for the moment, as it is pretty stable.

The patch sucks because they are officialy working on Civ 4 and not putting much effort into anything Civ 3 related. That came straight from the horse's mouth believe it or not.
