Well if you want to keep open the disparaging term 'anti-choice', I'm sure the other side can leave open an disparaging term for you. And pro-abortion is definetly a good nomer. You are in favor of abortion right? |
How is the term "anti-choice" disparaging though, really? It's actually accurate, as anti abortion folks oppose giving women a choice for having an abortion.
And che being the exception, pro-choicers, by and large, are not pro abortion. Abortions are unfortunate things thqt ideally would not take place. We are pro-right to have an abortion. So pro choice is the suitable moniker.

Re: the semantics, "pro-abortion" upsets the 'choicers because, in their own words, they find it icky. "Anti-choice," on the other hand, is not a good term because people reflexively respond poorly to "anti"-ANYTHING, and the idea of being denied any form of freedom, no matter what that freedom is, feeds a peculiar form of paranoid psychosis common to all democracies. If the issue were whether we had a right to choose to mug old ladies, the term "anti-choice" would still invoke a gut reaction. It's loaded language. So Pro-Life, Pro-Choice, let's play nice.
