I got my vodka set, though I just got call from friend who went to get it for me actually, that there was no finlandia so he got me Absolut .. No problemn though.. I like that too .

I'll be doing swedish day I think.. drinking Absolut, smashing Ikea furniture, shaking my meatballs in front of strangers and hoping to score blondes .

I like IKEA because they are the only ones that can bring furniture and stuff that is close to something I could afford. Well I still can't afford it, but it's the closest, so I don't dislike them for that. And they are easily smashable too, so I figure I can brake many things before the night ends.

edit: YAAAAAAAAAAY I just heard it's 2 day drinking party! That means when I wake up in someones puke, the drinking STARTS AGAIN, yes I repeat it starts again! Full 48 hour crazyness.. I can't wait, and my liver can't wait either!

70 cl of Tequila (for Taco shots and margueritas), 20 bottles of cheap Swedish beer, one sixpack of Mexican Coronas beer (very expensive), 3 bottles of good quality white wine and 3 bottles of good quality red wine. That will cover me, my wife and some guests for about a week.

To fully enjoy a Coronas beer, you should slice a lime and press it down the neck of the beer, then drink it with some nachos and chili sauce. Then they are really worth the higher price. If you don't they are just a weak (3.5%) beer like anyone else.

Go to Amarillo bar in central Turkku (100 meters south of Hamburger Börs), I'm sure they can help you if you want to taste it. Just avoid the arrogant servers who refused to get me a Coke because I pronounced it the Swedish way instead of "Kokkis"

Chemical Ollie, yes, that's the chopper all right.. Then there is the chopper pop up, where you just take it out quick and get it back in. Preferred if you can do it without your hands to make the effect better.

Oh thanks for the tip about the Coronas though.. that sounds pretty good I think I'll have to try that one for sure. at the ******* servers! That's pretty much one of the most stupid things I've ever heard.. but I have to kind of say that it's Turku.. come on chemical ollie, you lived there for a long time!

It's really weird you know, my friend works in this burger joint, and sometimes there is finlands swede or what ever the correct term is, and if it's an old person, the chances are they won't order in finnish, and that's ok, but if the person taking the order just can't understand it, it sometimes is a problem because they refuse to switch to finnish.. that's kind of stupid too. But that's even more stupid since they understood you and you tried to order.. I think I smell some Punk attitude. I might have to visit Amarillo soon.

Punk attitude allright. On another occation I was refused a Cider because I said Ciider instead of "Siideri" (also in Amarillo). Well, it's a Mexican bar, not a Swedish, so what can you expect?

did you still keep going there after the second time refused? I once got super bad treatment in Vespa, this great italian restaurant in Helsinki.. but nothing like that, never been refused anything. Well they just lost me as a customer for sure. Very likely it's not a big loss, but it's a matter of principal.

You have to humble yourself as a (historically oppressive) foreigner in a hostile town. Despite the attitude, Amarillo is a great place to start the evening. Try a Coronas with a slice of lime stuffed in the bottle neck and some nachos with chili and cheese to chew it down.

Well, it's not the same thing but that can be interpreted to the same category. Treating people like trash just because of that is almost unforgivable in places like that. The guy (or girl) has no excuses, and if it happened twice, it's not just a mistake anymore, but more like a policy. They treat their customers like trash it seems like, and I wouldn't want to carry my millions to a place like that anyway. So yes, anti-swedish attitude is punk attitude in a way too.

I'm not really sure if it was in the same bar, but I remember being screwed like that twice during my 2 years in Turkku. And every time I went to a hair dresser, they just said "Ei, Ei" when I asked if they spoke Swedish or English. I had to look and point in the fashion catalogues. Too bad the models all loked gay when I wanted a 5-mm Crew Cut...
