Hmm... never played the game Dune, just heard about it... And for a couple universes rivaling Dune, there is the classic LotR, which comprises at least six books that I can think of from Tolkien's writings alone, not including books like "After the King"... Dune has been followed up by Brian Herbert's books.... or, try the Robots/Empire/Foundation saga that is Isaac Asimov's writing... plus, his history goes into Russia, so they must be good books!
