	Official Poll: War or Peace With GWT? Get a bigger avatar today!

This poll will determine our ultimate goal for this game:

• 1) To attack GWT at some point in the game and either destroy or cripple them past the point that our victory is all but assured.
  
  
• 2) To go through the game without the express goal of invading GWT; that is, we will try to win the game peacefully.

I think we should analyse the situation carefully before making any decisions on a course of action. We need to get some kind of timetable to estimate where GWT are likely to be in tech and possibly millitary strength over a long timeframe. Then look at where we can be and how much of a millitary we can have at different points.

For example MT and nav would be essential for an attack but it may be better to not go for magnetism if we would have a better window of opportunity to invade before they have MT.

Stuff like that really, we need analysis and forecasts before deciding on a course of action rather than after.

I agree with OPD. I lean toward war against them, but I think it needs more discussion before this poll should happen. I'll wait to vote.

I agree, this is too soon for this Poll. For one thing, we still have to get through Astro (9 turns @ average 2.5 days per turn = 22.5 days or so) before we have to make our ultimate decision.

Abstain for now, IMHO.

I think we need to proceed in a manner which provides maximum flexibility for the future - allowing a go/no-go decision to be made later in this era.

We should build what military units we will need either way - naval units - and otherwise concentrate on our economy. Then, in part depending on how certain wonders shake out (Leos, anyone?) and in part depending on what the tech situation looks like (do we hold our tech lead?), we made a decision on whether or not to build an invasion force and attack.

edit: given that there is no such option on the poll, I don't know what to vote.

I'd definately consider ourselves to be in a "Cold War" situation with GWT.

We need to get Naval superiority over GWT. Both to prevent them landing on our contientant and also to allow us to land on their contientant if it seems advantegous to do so.

We probably don't need many more land units at this time, so the non-coastal cities needing inferstucture can focus on that and we're also free to focus on trying to build a useful Great Wonder or two.
