We poets usually are of the quiet type, you know.

Besides, the Mafia (or perhaps even Jamski himself) could be sitting on the orders in order to make the Mafia appear to be one of the more quiet people, even though the Mafia is actually one of the more prolific spammers posters in the thread such as DrSpike, Theben, Kassiopeia, of FlameFlash.

Tired of ads?

First, by Joncha (who interrupted Zop's Tetigisti acu "You have hit the nail on the head":
Si tacuisses, philosophus manisses-If you had kept quiet, you would have remained a philosopher. (Boethius)

Related Clue: ***Clue***
The killer has left his "mark" by using the pool of blood on Skanky's bartop. A single horizontal line of blood is clearly painted on the white plaster wall behind the bar, about 6 inches long, and one inch wide.

"Homo praesumitur bonus donec probetur malus!"
One is innocent until proven guilty

But Google wants to know if I meatnt to type: Homo praesumitur bonus donec probatur malus!
Which brings up a site dedicated to ancient law. "Maxims of Law from Bouvier's 1856 Law Dictionary" to be more precise.

***A Clue***
Siphillis in its initial stages can turn the genitals green/black.

Jam miswrote it... either that, or he meant Google to go to some user profile at forumco.com who lives in Arkansas and is a 16-year-old student.

Then of course if you spell it correctly:Syphilis, you get a bunch of STD sites.

"Vita mutatur, non tollitur"
Google didn't like the spelling, and the first post that's in English with Jam's spelling is says this about that quote:

quote:

Vita Mutatur sed non Tollitur
For they complain of injustice
That you robbed them of a loved one
Distraught they are
And question your fairness
For you are supposed to be good
And this seems not the handiwork
Of He who is the embodiment of good itself
But same thinking process stop to consider:
Who complains?
With what?
And you think enough to make a point!
“Cogito ergo sum”
So who endows you with that life
And the necessary brain you think with?
Would you rather not be to think?
Or be deprived of those who comfort you?
Would you go back to empty house?
Or has rain swallowed up your place of rest?
Be grateful, mortal man
All is not lost
For you have brain to pray
To thank the Creator of all
For the gifts you still have
So let go, honorably
For none can stand up to divine wisdom
And all that exists must cease to be—
To be with him for eternity
For life only goes through change—
It is not taken away!

A bloody poem!

While the proper spelling (Vita mutation, non tollitur) didn't come up with any definition.

Next one... "Vah! Denuone Latine loquebar? Me ineptum. Interdum modo elabitur" which is just "Oh! Was I speaking Latin again? Silly me. Sometimes it just sort of slips out"

Next: "Si post fata venit gloria non propero" If fame comes after death, I'm in no hurry for it

***A Clue***

Upon picking up one of the bloated headlice and squeezing it, (always hard to crush a louse's armour) a small amount of acidic smelling green liquid oozes out. Better wash your hands before eating, eh?

Crap, I'm missing some of those clues... somebody else go back for any I missed... I'm at work and almost done with this shift so I have to go soon. Somebody else, please post the list of stuff tripped over again, please.

Next: Pulvis et umbra sumus - We are but Dust and Shadows

***A Clue***

When threatened properly, the slaves in Rah's Taverna reveal that they saw someone tampering with Jon Miller's food the previous evening, while consulting a large scroll, which they read with some difficulty.

Like that one really helps much

Having trouble finding one on: Excusatio non petita, accusatio manifesta which mentioned he didn't like hearing from a slave.

I'd almost vote Tuber, but can somebody get the rest of the clues put together? I had to stop at Episode 7 to go to class.

Flameflash: Read some of the previous posts for clues and which includes many of the clues collected in the one post.

There is also a site called 'Latin quotations with English translations' which does as it says and includes all the latin quotes so far and are also recorded above.

Now to the voting. As you know I drew attention, almost as an afterthought , to the 'tripping over the clues' phenomenon which led a number of us remaining, to focus on Gladiators or Charioteers. Unfortunately this was after I had already voted for Rasputin. So I owe him one.

Therefore I feel compelled to vote for DrSpike

We need to test the analysis.

Whatever's Latin for "I hope the mafia murders you all" was heard from DrSpike.

On the basis of Guynemer's death and the earlier priest analysis, I vote Flameflash

Sypillis - the green penis etc.
Pediculosis - headlice.
Indigestion.
Kindney stones. (nethroliths)
Epilepsy.

The objects on the floor were all vague herrings to distract people and give you something to contemplate, while if you look closely FlameFlash is always cut off with one letter said of the next word. Put the letters together to spell Gladius - the gladiator's weapon.
And the 11-foot long spear is a pike.

The heads of those beheaded were looking up at the following pattern (eventually)

-
-
<
<
-
-

Turn it on the side to get IIVVII, or I IV VII = 1,4,7 = ADG who was dragging the bodies to the river to feed the fish.

The other clues were more general.
