Officially it's "alea iacta est".
Edit: and IIRC, Caesar said it when he crossed the Rubicon.

Sorry it was "heads" and the password is "ave"
Not entirely intentional, no... more in the spirit of "Yeah! Burn more wood! What else will burn?"
Meanwhile, back in Rome...
Episode 2
The Romans gathered together in Rah's place, as it was just too disturbing to sit in Skanky's Taverna and look at the dead barkeeper's head. Each citizen and slave had one vote, and after a cruical tie, resolved by throwing an oddly shaped bone and praying to Mercury, the fate of GJRamsey was sealed.
"Homo praesumitur bonus donec probetur malus!" protested the scribe, but noone was impressed by his Latin, and he was dragged into the collesaum (sp?) and fed to the lions, since there were currently no Christians available.
"Well," said Spiffor, rubbing his hands together, "That's one problem solved."
"But if Saturn blesses the g..." started FlameFlash, but as usual Rasputin stopped his blathering and interrupted.
"If Jupiter blesses the good deed we have done, let us drink and celebrate!"
The Romans returned to Rah's place and Joncha went out looking for his girls. Since all the other Romans seemed to have disappeared, he came back empty handed, much to the others disapointment.
* * * * *
When Snowfire woke up in the middle of the night, with a pressing need to urinate, he climbed over the sleeping bodies of the other Romans. He accidentally kicked something round in the dark, with a metallic clang. He paused, but noone seemed to have woken up.
Upon entering the Toiletium, Snowfire was in for a big surprise. Spiffor stood before the urinal, his toga around his ankles, unmoving.
Snowfire called the others, who stumbled in, half asleep.
"He's stiff," noted Jon Miller, "And I mean as in Rigor Mortis, you fools."
Spiffor was indeed cold, stiff and very dead. The end of his penis was slowly turning from green to black.
"I wouldn't touch that!" commented Guynemer
"Neither did Mrs Spiffor," chuckled Rah.
Its time to VOTE VOTE VOTE!

Any Civ player should have known that!
I think a refresher course may be in order.

Now, of course, syphilis is pretty damn obviously indicating the pimp. However, syphilis doesn't really turn your genitals to strange colours let alone kill you just like that where you stand, but it's not like medical knowledge or lack thereof has ever been an obstacle in a Mafia game.
Then there is a very, very unnerving question: if all the prostitutes are gone, who gave the disease to Spiffor and how exactly? Unless the Mafia version of the illness does take a few weeks or a month to kill someone, so that they could've been infected with it before the killings began. I'd rather consider that, even though Romans weren't too... intolerant when it came to homosexuality. |
Brilliant Kass!
I'd have also thought that someone would have heard the senator's visit to the urinal were he suffering from such a disease. Screams of pain perhaps.....
I reckon that Spiffor was poisoned, and didn't die of syphilis, as has been suggested. Unless the autopsy missed something really obvious then it would have had to be a pretty hi-tech murder. It's unlikely that he was gassed in Roman times, although there is no knowing who else was in the cubicles at the toiletium, and what they had had for their lunch.
