I'd have to hazard a guess at yes, I did choose to be straight. I've often thought about it, and in general, I'm attracted to the people I want to be attracted to. I'm really not sure why I'm attracted to women and not men. I mean, I have opinions on which guys I think are good looking, and I'm not repulsed by the idea of it, but at the same time, I'm not attracted to them in the same way as I am to women, and I wouldn't want to be. I'm very happy being straight, so I'm not even curious really.

That aside, although I do consider myself a heterosexual and a very cool one thank you very much, I'm fairly sure that if I could get into your scene if I wanted to. I remember my first cup of coffee and bottle of beer - it was bitter and frankly un-appealing, but I eventually tried to develop a taste for the stuff as I instinctively understood the close relations beer and coffee have to human happiness. I think that given time and patience, you can learn to appreciate most things, so one could argue I've made a concious choice to remain a heterosexual, albeit probably not in the sense argued by the bible-thumping crowd.

I can't be bought by men or women (although sometimes I joke that I would like a surgar momma)

I do however acknowledge that sex with guys is probably pretty good and so if I was interested in sex without love I would probably be 'bi'

I don't however beleive in intrinsicly bi people, only those that have divorced sex and love and those who are confused about their sexuality

For me it was around the age of 7 when I saw the Kate Bush film clip for Babooshka on TV. Right there and then I decided to be a heterosexual. Had I been female, I would have chosen to be a lesbian I suppose.

I actually thought otherwise for a period of time at the start of college, than I discovered that (well better put the people who I had considered to be intrinsically bi discovered that they were actually homosexual and had been confused) what I had considered to be cases otherwise were false

Genetics isn't anywhere near that simple. Do you really think that something as complex as sexual attraction could be turned completely on its head by changing one little gene (a little gene that can only be changed one way)?
