quote: Macedonia to Persia :
Our translators made an error, which has now been pointed out. We would be happy to sell you Phasis for a few talents and grain. Of course, we feel that it is only fair to point out that you already control it... |
Our incompetent georaphers!!!!!! Head geographer Dewing will be executed at once fro her grave miscalculation.
We were hoping for Sinope actually.
quote: Any disruption of our strategic interests in the region of Egypt (i.e. our crucial trade and soon-to-be-started grain importing) will not be looked upon kindly. |
Persia has strategic interests in Egypt as well, if you distrub these, the Persian nation will have to obviously pick a side. do you really want to deal with the possibility of havin to fight the Persian and Egyptian armies?
I wouldn't, mainly b/c that would mean that my country had revolted, but still consider the question.
quote: Egypt to Rome, Macedonia, Persia
We need help! The Carthagians are threatening our souvereignity just months after weīve gained it! Please take any diplomatical means to prevent war!
If it should come to a war, we will fight to our last man. We ask you to join our venture in that case! Egypt shall reward your efforts generously!!! |
We do feel a strong allegiance to you Egypt, we do like the idea of a reward, as long as it isn't some crappy litle plastic pin wheel, nad a pat on the head.
We cannot make any guarantees, but we are leaning toward supporting Egypt.
quote: Carthage to Macedonia:
We will not destabilize Egypt. We may not even go to war. If we do though, once we win, Egypt will trade with you as promised. Carthage will accomadate you with any losses. |
If anyone is to "win" Egypt, it will be along side the ranks of Persia, many of the Egypotian lands are rightfully Persian.

Rome to Ligurian chieftains
Ave! Greetings from the Senate and the People of Rome. Our Italian Republic has long traditions in providing safe havens for those in need. Ligurians are most welcome to join the Republic. Not long ago Rome itself was sacked by the Gallic hordes, hence with great pleasure we will join in your quest to annihilate them. Right now we have some scores to settle with the Tyrrhenoi as the greeks call them, Tusci or Etrusci as we call them or Rasenna as they call themselves or whatever you call them in your language. Maybe you would like to join our campaign agaisnt them in the mean time. That way our military would become more familiar and we could train common tactics later to be used against the Gallians.
Vale Bene!

Yes, that is essentially it, and we will make your military stronger as well, if need be. The amount of talents, depends on how long this protection lasts, and if you want training. |
Egypt to Carthage
Well, we see no advantage for us in such a deal. Persia wonīt attack us again too soon, and Macedonia is interested in our well-being as well. So your protection offer is nothing but blackmail, which wonīt be tolerated. We wish for peace, thatīs all we can offer.
As long as you donīt acknowledge our souvereignity and the current borders, Carthagian traders will be denied access to all of our markets.
We ask you furthermore to return the land youīve unrightfully conquered from us, but thatīs not a peace condition for now...
