Egypt to Carthage
We just recently ended our war fo independence, so weīll most certainly not subjugate to another warmongerer again. Too many brave men of the Nile have died to achieve a free Egypt, so we have to decline strongly!

Egypt to Rome, Macedonia, Persia
We need help! The Carthagians are threatening our souvereignity just months after weīve gained it! Please take any diplomatical means to prevent war!
If it should come to a war, we will fight to our last man. We ask you to join our venture in that case! Egypt shall reward your efforts generously!!!

We were hoping for Sinope actually.

Persia has strategic interests in Egypt as well, if you distrub these, the Persian nation will have to obviously pick a side. do you really want to deal with the possibility of havin to fight the Persian and Egyptian armies?
I wouldn't, mainly b/c that would mean that my country had revolted, but still consider the question.

We do feel a strong allegiance to you Egypt, we do like the idea of a reward, as long as it isn't some crappy litle plastic pin wheel, nad a pat on the head.
We cannot make any guarantees, but we are leaning toward supporting Egypt.

If anyone is to "win" Egypt, it will be along side the ranks of Persia, many of the Egypotian lands are rightfully Persian.

Don't be foolish, you can give back all the mateirals that you want, but that cannot make up for the freedom of a people, or the lives of those who die fighting for it. Just b/c you replace their losses, does not at all guarantee stability.

Trouble at Tuscany

Orders final. Story coming after the next update

Orders

- Spend 50 talents to found the town of Beneventum in Samnia
- Spend 20 talents to build siege machinery, including rams, siege towers, carro-ballistas and catapults.
- Order Legions II, III and IV to siege Perusia, while Legion I is watching their back and conquering the minor towns and villages.

Rome to Ligurian chieftains

Ave! Greetings from the Senate and the People of Rome. Our Italian Republic has long traditions in providing safe havens for those in need. Ligurians are most welcome to join the Republic. Not long ago Rome itself was sacked by the Gallic hordes, hence with great pleasure we will join in your quest to annihilate them. Right now we have some scores to settle with the Tyrrhenoi as the greeks call them, Tusci or Etrusci as we call them or Rasenna as they call themselves or whatever you call them in your language. Maybe you would like to join our campaign agaisnt them in the mean time. That way our military would become more familiar and we could train common tactics later to be used against the Gallians.

Vale Bene!

Let us be great allies forever. And I mean that. I suggest we start heavy trade to strengthen us both. What about a Military Protection Pact as well? Thank you for considering it.

We were a bit hasty in our last meeting. We apologize for that. However, here is a deal. In exchange for complete military protection, and training of your military, we ask you give us a certain amount of talents a turn. Do you accept?

Yes, that is essentially it, and we will make your military stronger as well, if need be. The amount of talents, depends on how long this protection lasts, and if you want training.

Macedonia to Persia :

No can do. Sinope is Greek, not Persian. We are sorry we can't oblige, but we really can't understand your obsession with attempting to gain little bits of land that offer you no strategic advantage.

to Egypt ( a SECRET envoy) :

A possibility exists. If you were to cede us a small strip of land in the area of Pharos, that would effectively block a Carthaginian land invasion, once we get some soldiers down there. That would leave you the need to defend yourself from sea invasions, which would be difficult, but possible. This is risky for us, however, and may not come in time to help you anyway, but it is the best we can do.

Ok ok fine, I'm pretty sure that you own a town on that little rim sea to our north. We want them back underPersian control, b/c the purpose of the game is expansion, and this is one of the more peaceful ways of going about expansion.

Certainly not. We are the heirs to the Cnossos culture, we wonīt surrender. Seeing the great losses of both of our navies we instead offer a peace treaty. Current borders, no tributes, piracy ended.

We must warn you that we still have a trump to play...

Well, we see no advantage for us in such a deal. Persia wonīt attack us again too soon, and Macedonia is interested in our well-being as well. So your protection offer is nothing but blackmail, which wonīt be tolerated. We wish for peace, thatīs all we can offer.
As long as you donīt acknowledge our souvereignity and the current borders, Carthagian traders will be denied access to all of our markets.
We ask you furthermore to return the land youīve unrightfully conquered from us, but thatīs not a peace condition for now...
