First thing in the morning, I was greeted by the ugly face of an American emissary. He came to offer me a fould deal indeed: a military alliance versus the English. I considered for but a moment, and inquired if the American side would be willing to hand over Philadelphia to pay for me wreaking havoc on my allies. Upon receiving a refusal, I beheaded the emissary, and sent the head over to Lincoln.
After breakfast, my military advisor walked in to inform me that our own band of warriors stationed on Blooded Hill was massacred by a bunch of measly Vikings. I was sad, and ordered to take revenge. The advisor said that they knew I would want that, but decided to be cautious, and attacked Trondheim with our veteran Javelin Throwers. The attack was successful, we were able to enslave another band of Viking spearman and take the city, he told me, and collapsed on his knees, grasping at my legs and begging for mercy. From the news of the taking of the city, my mood was already on an upswing, so I lifted him up and asked why this sudden collapse. He hung his head low, and delivered: it turned out that another band of Javelin Throwers was sent to get the previously enslaved vikings, which were recaptured on their way to our mines on the blodded hill, and the third band of javelin throwers rushed up the hill to avenge their lost brothers... They did not succeed, and perished on the spot. The Vikings held on to the hill despite suffering large casualties. That made me sad again. And I beheaded the man.
New military advisor needed.

Today's news:
Riot in Trondheim
The Vikings might be enslaved, but they are still proud. Proud of their origin, and unwilling to serve the Maian people. All food production has stopped in Trondheim, so the riots will not long last.
Maians Kicked Out
Just as a band of our brave warriors was scouting the Iroquese borders, the latter performed a daring political feat, founding a new city by the iron deposits we were hoping to secure, and later accusing our people of violating their borders. Well, our eyes are currently focused on another prey, but it won't last long, and then the Iroquese will taste our javelins and pay for their insolence.
Homeland Security
A bunch of barbarians, currently stuck in the void between the Arabian and Maian borders, plunged in the midst of our undefended cities and public projects in a daring attack. Civil defence squads were hastily assembled, and even though we did not put much hope in them, they were able to defeat the barbarians, and our so our public projects did not suffer one bit. Just go to show the greatness of our people, once more - warriors by birth.
American Foolishness
In a never-before-seen act of benevolence, our great leader sent an emissary to the land of the Americans with the proposal of exchanging Washington and the newly acquired Trondheim for the puny little city of Philadelphia. Somehow, Lincoln found the proposal funny, and asked to not make him laugh in the future. Well, in that case, we will just have to make him cry.
Save on to Paddy.

At the cost of our people's lives, we have taken Bergen from the Vikings, as an Arabic explorer looked on. Go back home, brave explorer, and tell great tales of the bravery of the Maian people. Go home, for there is noone but friends left here now.
After taking Bergen, we promptly made peace with the leader of the Vikings, in exchange for a band of their slaves, and 100 gold pieces. The Viking gold was used to send an expedition in search of their next city, and it was found that the new capital, Reikiavik, is located in the land of the Arabs, even further from our borders than the new home of the Americans. We wholeheartedly hope that our Arab friends will apply their forces to eradicate the last remnants of the barbarians. Of both races.
In the mean time, we are planning to enjoy a short preiod of peace, where we will settle densely the void between the former land of the Americans, and the former land of the Vikings. After that, we are planning to turn our eyes to the Iroquese, who are already proving somewhat bothersome to us.
On to Sir Paddy.

BTW,
Regarding the question of how come the Americans got a second city so quickly after respawning. My embassy to Rikiavik showed that they have three spearmen, an archer, and a settler in there. I don't if the game's been modded, or it's supposed to be so, but expect the Vikings to plot a second city close to home soon, Chrisius.
