"In a distant and second-hand set of dimensions, in an astral plane that was never meant to fly, the curling star-mists waver and part...
See...
Great A'Tuin the Turtle comes, swimming slowly through the interstellar gulf, hydrogen frost on his ponderous limbs, his huge and ancient shell pocked with meteor craters. Through sea-sized eyes that are crusted with rheum and asteroid dust He stares fixedly at the Destination.
In a brain bigger than a city, with geological slowness, He thinks only of the Weight.
Most of the weight is of course accounted for by Berilia, Tubul, Great T'Phon and Jerakeen, the four giant elephants upon whose broad and startanned shoulders the disc of the World rests, garlanded by the long waterfall at its vast circumference and domed by the baby-blue vault of Heaven.
Astropsychology has been, as yet, unable to establish what they think about."
—Terry Pratchett, The Colour of Magic (1983)

After 2 years of struggle, at last it is ready!
This scenario is much more than my first ever! It is the result of a collective work, and without the help of a great many Poly posters, it would never have been finished (or actually, even started ). So many many thanks to all who helped me!
I won't name them all, but among others St-Leo, rjmatsleepers, Duke of York, Yaroslav, Curtsibling, Arthedain and Case proved decisive! Thank you my friends!
Note: read the readme before playing, especially if you are not familiar with T. Pratchett Discworld!

I believe that it requires MGE; I'm fairly sure it doesn't work with 2.42 or FW. No doubt Cyrion will confirm this.

As rjm said, you need the MPGE (Gold Edition) for this scen, because of the (full) events file, without which the scen just isn't worth playing!

You should make a version for civ3.

Sorry, but no chance!

I love the Discworld novels! read nearly all. Civ TOT might work well for this too, you could make Deaths realm on another map level, or undersea/ caves including the edge of the Disc rim.
|
Yes, that could be interesting, but I only bought TOT 3 month ago (and haven't installed it yet... )

I got quite far on my own Discworld mod for civ3, made a nice map, based on earth of course in a disc.
Civ3 conquests extra flavors and specialised civs would make the different discworld cultures come alive.

That's one of the resasons I had to make extensive use of the events file!
