I think some people are being a bit too hard on this couple. I mean, from my perspective, they were living in a state of innocence. I mean, they may be quite intelligent, but simply ignorant of sex - ignorant is not the same as stupid.

I never received the intimate details of other peoples' experiences in middle school, or even well into high school, and then only rarely. But then again, I hung out with a bunch of geeks and we didn't exactly see a lot of action. I don't know who you were hanging out with but it was obviously a bad crowd - a bunch of no-goodniks!
