After you hit "print screen", open Paint (every computer has this right?) and select "paste".

I think screen shots are very useful for PBEM.

you'd need to paste it into a graphics program to save it. or use the screenshot assistant from sourceforge: http://sourceforge.net/projects/screenassist/
(it was made for civ3 but can be used for anything!)

In my immediate area there was probably only 3 workable grasslands, I did exaggerated a bit but the forest doesn't give me enough food, but is ok.

that's 1 luxury, 2 rivers (for the agricultural iroquois!), a food bonus and 2 bonus grasslands. the jungle definatly would need some trimming and the desert usually sucks, but as agricultural civ it produces the same much food and shields irrigated as irrigated plains...

my last PBEM i wanted to restart was plains, hills and coast only. one single 2-food-tile and lo fresh water in the vicinity. so your isn't that bad

All victory on (probably not wonder though)

What is the barbarian level?

all correct except:

- water set to 70% to prevent someone stuck on a minuscule island like swissy was... and that was a pangea map!

- cultural links off, because it just influences the starting randomness...

believe me... the first 1000 years are piece of cake. in one PBEM a barb camp spawned about 20 horsemen... i've been fighting them for hundreds of years (6 of them fortified in the forests outside a city). in the 2nd PBEM, 1 player is in the medieval ages and it's only a matter of time until the 2nd is too... then i'll have 3 unfinished huts pouring out barbarian scum

random barb is fair because it's a balance between expansionists (who like goody huts), mayans (who like to enslave) and the rest. but if you guys want, i can select a specific level...

Are you setting up the game? random should be fine since even on raging the barbs aren't that hard to kill/defend from.
