You know, being an ardant builder and all that, playing the believers is a challenge for me in quite a few ways (as you can imagine.) Should the believers and the spartans have started next to each other - which i think is unlikely, that's not really Googlie's style I don't think - then likely I'd be up a creek without a paddle.

However, needs must, and that fanatic bonus sure is tasty. A disciplined impact infantry attacks a base at 4*1.25*1.25 = 6.25. A plasma sentinel defends at 3*1.25*1.25 (sensor, just to be nice) = 4.69. Someone needs some perimeter defenses!

Again quick n**b question: Is there any way I can permanently make Morgan look like Morgan in all the games, regardless whether the faction resides in 2nd or 4th slot or somewhere else? Or do I have to swap factions in the faction selection screen before loading the game?

Kindly do not make a decision for all of us.
I'd like to see a replacement.
I tend to play my turns within 12 hours, and if a turn isn't played in 24 hours I tend to get annoyed.

One vacation I will forgive, but if a person has a 72 hour turn stall then I'll consider myself an attrocity victim.

I agree with Googlie, it's only a short break, no replacement. The turns at this stage are crucial to someones plan, and it's a harsh penalty to have someone else play them.

Theres a reload warning because someone checked automatically investigate monoliths. This I do _not_ want checked. Many preferences are common in PBEM's including this one, and whilst for convenience sake it might be simpler, it is not helpful for all! I do not want that morale upgrade from green to discipled, I want it from commando to elite.

Please do not change settings in the preferences section, and if you do, tell us what!

Uhhh... something -really- strange has happened with my turn.

I saved-and-exited after getting that Unity Rover.
The square I popped it obviously had a scout that used all its movement points.
My base was set to produce a colony pod in 1.
Yet, when I open the mid-turn save...

I have 5 more ECs (2 from stockpile pod, 3 from turn)
My Scout patrol has a movement point
My main base is down to size 1 and has produced a pod.

SOMEHOW I've managed to get a whole free turn.
I'll restart the turn, but I'm rerolling to get that Unity Rover I popped earlier.

My dodgy turn is attached, so Googlie can verify I'm not lying to get a unity rover.

yeah - it's in the buglist on the old OWO forums )I have hard copy but not electronic copy)

If you save a game in Multiplayer right after podpopping it'll reset to that same year but with all units refreshed

Stockpile energy will kick in again (if there was any due on that turn originally - so you'll get it twice) as well as labpoints.

I though that the problem had been dealt with in one of the subsequent releases, but on perusing the readme.txt file I can't see any reference to it

I believe that if you do anything after popping the pod but before saving (ie, move a unit or insert into the build queue, etc) then the effect is nullified

Argh. Made the mistake yesterday, went back into SMAX, corrected it but saved the new file with .sav, not .SAV as suffix. Then freshened the ZIPfile and of course, since .SAV was already in it, the new .sav was not taken. Resend on the way.

@E_N: When saving, would it be possible to use the same filename every time and only switching the year? "Andid210x" sorts differently than "AndiD210x" than "AndiD, 210x" ... and I'm confused enough ATM
