. Many of you all get so worked up about nothing. A H has a sore spot about sticky threads (and maybe/maybe not a the karen Mills subject). He is undisciplined enough to repeat fits of complaining about them (incluidng inside the stickly threads themselves, inaapropriately) even though already told tough luck by the powers that be. Lancer has a sore spot abouts Horses complaining, and can't resist taking him to task for it. Neither can then resist impugning each other motives and them devolving into a flamming war. MarkG has a sore spot about Horses repeated hissy fits on the same subject, and when Horse crosses a do do this line establihed by Ming (however arbitrary that line may seem to others), MarkG improves the quality of his life for 1 week by ban banning Horse. I certainly might have done so with one of both the contestants if they were upsetting MY environment. If this was going on at my house I would have expelled one or both, WITHOUT ANY THOUGHT OF JUSTICE, but just as a matter of preserving MY environment in the condintion I want it to be, as a matter of my right and privilage.
. As for the apparent probability of this reoocuring, perhaps a new POLICY statement in the FAQ:
I. Sticky threads are the PRIVILAGE of the Admins, for whatever purpose shall be pleasing unto them, tough luck if you do not like them or their subject.
II. Thou shalt not complain about a thread being made sticky in that thread or in the OT or any other forum except as describe below.
III. The only forum venue for complaining about sticky threads is a separate thread in the Appolyton Forum, said thread SHALT be tiltled "Rant about sticky thread (id)".
IV. NO flamming of any kind is permitted in a "Rant about sticky thread"

actually, since i'm not 24 hours a day in the OT(much, much less), the quality of my life has barely changed due to AH's ban. what i'm worried about is the quality of he forums....

AH has been on these forums long enough to know the rules very well....

Well, I think the newbie has the best perspective. Right on, Rimmer.
Legman did exaggerate, but I think his point is well made.
Thanks to Ming for providing the links so I could look at them.
No-one is claiming freedom of speech here. There talking about fairness. MarkG hasn't said "I admit its not fair, I don't have to be fair, its my ball, and you can't play with it if I don't want you to."
So people saying how MarkG can do anything he wants aren't really adding much to the debate.
There is no question in my mind this was bias, and worse, spite.
The debate, as Rimmer had pointed out, was long over.
Lancer got the last dig in AFTER being told to go to PM.
Horse did commmit the faux pas of quoting a PM in the forum.
Lancer then responded, continuing the argument outside of the PMs.
There is no way even the USSC could differentiate between the level of crime and punishment each poster deserves. If that was a week for Horse, it should have been a week for Lancer.
Lancer also seriously threatened to punch the horse's lights out.

Could I just remind everybody that we're in danger of portraying AH as a blameless innocent? Frankly, that's the last thing he'd want.
